@@bstrippy1664 Perspex sheet on top of the mesh. Then you cn see where the birds are before you open the door.

@bstrippy1664 if they don't use it they won't be protected from the elements. Also with a cage front when you need to get a bird and they fly in to get away from you if you can close it off from the aviary side you can just catch the bird from a cage instead of chasing them around the flight.

I found the birds like to roost quite high up, they might not like the high ‘ floor’ in the roost area.
