The first named storm of the 2023 Season, Storm Agnes, hit Ireland & the UK this afternoon with a cyclonic low pressure system bringing strong gales and torrential rain to much of the British Isles. Much of England saw the edge of the storm itself with Southerly and South-Easterly winds, Manchester saw gusts of around 35 knots at peak times and although this relatively low compared to directly affected areas, due to the prevailing direction, there was plenty of crosswind action to see!
Through the 7 or so hours I was filming there were a lot of exceptional crosswind landings and 4 very impressive go arounds, 3 of which being very close to the ground. Always a treat to film in these conditions and it's always very impressive to watch both the flying skill and the quick thinking and co-ordination from ATC, enjoy this one!
