In the summer of 2014, Avicii looked back on an impressive career. He was one of the most successful artists in the world with over 10 million albums sold. His songs were topping the charts all around the globe. But 320 gigs a year and the constant pressure to deliver had taken its toll on his body and mind.
So on September 8 2014, Avicii decided to table all his touring and promotional activities and take some time off, to re-charge and find inspiration. 8 months later he’s back, stronger than ever, ready for a new beginning.

Every time someone dies of suicide we say how was it possible, they used seem always happy and smiling etc. This was not the case for Avicii, it was very evident that he was not happy at all he tried to bring out that message to everyone. Unfortunately we were too stupid to realise this. I am not saying i saw this coming no one did but we cannot say that Tim never tried to tell us he needed help. We were too selfish always expecting more and more from him :/. RIP Avicii. You will be missed but definitely not forgotten

@@OwenFenech Amen! The stigma of mental health issues. However, he WAS in a tremendous amount of physical pain constantly, and you can't know what that's like unless you've been thru it. People say " I broke my leg" etc NO NO NO. I'm talking 24/7 unrelenting pain. It drains you physically, mentally, spiritually.... and if you have the tiniest mental health issue....it WILL break you. Depression is a absolute. You can literally feel the life leaving your body. It's sad he suffered in life, but we should be happy, he now has a perfect body, experiences perfect unrelenting joy, love, peace, & knowledge. Prince knew this (Mel B interview) & I wouldn't feel compelled to say this if I hadn't experienced it 1st hand. It has been proven in clinical settings, a brain surgery patient went to The Other Side....when she left her body she was clinically dead, brain dead, but she told them everything was said & done. On The Other Side, she asked if she was standing in God's breath. But whatever your beliefs, there is love, peace, & knowledge times 100 there. And your sick, painful body is 100% healthy, powerful even. Chronic pain like he had makes you suicidal. And he's not in pain anymore, so you should be happy for him. Exactly the other extreme....extreme joy, playing music... he's perfect. Better than perfect!

Watching this with what we know now its all just so sad and a waste of such talent. He could have gone on to do so much more with his music, away from touring. What could have been if he'd been taken more care of - but I doubt the music industry care as there's always the next big thing coming along..........family and friends left to bear the pain of his loss. He was trying to tell us that he needed a break to just be a normal person again. He was being very succesful but at the same time felt like a prisoner of his own success, a routine he couldn't escape that easily (between airports, hotels, almost no sleep, endless gigs and the pressure to always deliver hits). As an introvert it's very difficult when you're always the center of attention like he was, and sleeping poorly and feeling trapped is (I think) what made him frustrated and even more depressed... I had a friend that suffered from depression, he couldn't sleep, didn't eat well and ended up the same way.. We need to help our loved ones, I feel like people with this mental disease put on a costume to cover how they really feel inside. So watch for the details, get them to sleep better, have proper treatment before it's too late.

He seemed like a really sweet shy guy but felt pressured by his fame and people in the industry and worked himself to the bone. I read that in one year he had 200 gigs!!!!!!! That's not human!!!!!! He then turned to alochol to cope with panic attacks that were just his body and his psyche telling him to slow down! A really sad story. agree with you.... I imagine that the pressure was huge, from making a success song to continually work without rest , never know if people are genuine with you and you feel lonely . It is so sad to know that good people are struggling in life for any reason

If you can't handle being successful then how are you gona handle being a failure? People do it and have been doing it since people existed. That's why I don't blame it on his success or his schedule. There's probably chemical imbalances that cause this and make people kill themselves no matter what their circumstances are.

YOU can be sad, but it's not a pity. He's in a better place is a understatement. He is in perfect love perfect peace and perfect knowledge.....most of all PERFECT HEALTH. He will never experience illness, physical or mental pain again. Just pure joy that is unimaginable. No, I'm not religious. But I saw it. NO one that has seen The Other Side has ever wanted to come back to this earthly plane. It's absolutely proven people have been there & back. You'd have to be in pain like he was to understand how great it feels. Supreme unconditional love everywhere. These concepts are hard to comprehend, most people are spiritually handicapped. You can feel sorry for him, but it's no pity. It's a pity he had to struggle through such pain & hardship while alive, but it's no pity his physical body & presence is gone from HERE. Everything is perfect for him. He's physically healthy, no pain, playing music with 100× the joy he felt here....and nothing bad.

Throughout my entire life until now Avicii was a bigger part. There were some points in life till date where i kept struggling to hold on to life. These songs kept me balanced. Knowing his story and his struggles inspired me to hope and keep holding on.😢 He is gone now and I feel lost. But I really thank him for helping me even though it was unknowingly. He was and still is my inspiration to keep fighting. Rest in peace Avicii. I know many people feel the same. So to all those struggling, keep fighting ! ❤

This is not Angelina. Avicii asked his friend to do a demo for this but Volvo used a different performer. You should search Angelina Jordans tribute to Tim Avicii "Wake Me Up". She changes the tempo, emotions, passion and ultimately it's a different song just for him. She is 12 years old when she did the tribute. . Sung at his funeral, there would not be a dry eye. It's beautiful.

Strangely enough, some people think that the parts of the song where the voice is deeper and raspier would be the voice of Angelina Jordan who was 9 at the time. Audra Mae is credited as the sole singer, as Volvo management was reluctant to have a child associated with a car commercial.
