Nice funny video only thing i might add is flaps might help slow it down a bit for shorter landings. Of course on water take off flaps tend to create nice lift to assist with getting off the water.

Very nice plane and very well flown. I just have one float plane, its a multiplex mentor which flys very well. Ive never had a boat plane before and im flying 33 years . So i think this albatross will be my first boat plane. Thanks for posting this video, i enjoyed watching it. Regards Aidan.

Maiden flight are useful for learn to take off with landing gear on too! Hahaha! To the next video Dom.Cheers!
@EssentialRC5 жыл бұрын
No landing gear with this model Zola. Better that way. Scale landing gear quite complicated on this aircraft and making it amphibious with them would have been very difficult. I've seen larger models struggle with that. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

@@EssentialRC Sorry for the misunderstanding Dom, I was referring to the fact that the inversion of the motors was connected to landing gear channel, so you had to take off with "landing gear up" because with the landing gear down you had the engines running backwards. in the unboxing video it was clear that there was no landing gear and you proposed to connect the inversion of the motors to the command of the landing gear Cheers

Doesn't it have a landing Gear?
@EssentialRC5 жыл бұрын
No and much lighter because of it. I know of at least one aero modeller who scratch built an Albatross with landing gear. It sank on its first water outing. Difficult to prevent the ingress of water I suspect. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

Nice looking aircraft, looks like it flys well does it have a landing gear. 👍
@EssentialRC5 жыл бұрын
No. No landing gear with this model Josepth. Doesn't need it if you take off from grass. Proper scale landing gear would be quite complex I suspect which would increase the price and make it more difficult for it to be amphibious. Best things are kept simple in my opinion. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

You have the props on the wrong shafts. The tips should come together at the top on twins. This is to assist the pilot should an engine fail inflight. The rotation of the operating prop will be on the favored side to limit adverse yaw.
@carlgulbransen48525 жыл бұрын
Hey Pal, don't beat yourself up. How many airplanes have reverse anyway?? Simple mistake. Every amphibious pilot is told to approach a water takeoff like it will never happen, and worse, end is catastrophe. Your ship came down in one piece so, SALUTE! You survived to fly another day! Carl the Cgul

Hummm, lets see landing gear retracted and taxi a water plane on grass. what's missing here?
@EssentialRC5 жыл бұрын
Doesn't have landing gear and for a first flight I thought it would be sensible to fly it off grass. Fly it off water and if you have a problem you've got to retrieve and from experience that's not always easy. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

@EssentialRC5 жыл бұрын
Possibly. It was first flight. Next time out on water so intention is to move the pack forward. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
@twest3445 жыл бұрын
Tail Heavy. I would like to see some slow landings, the aviox C-130 has way too high of a wing loading, I'm hoping this one can land at a more decent (scale) speed. EDIT: I've watched a few videos (on other youtube channels), and this plane does, indeed, seem to be able to slow down for nice landings. Yes, I land rather fast on my first flight as well. I love unique scale jobs, but I just bought a plane so it might have to wait.
@EssentialRC5 жыл бұрын
True, it was tail heavy but flyable. More video coming soon after I get down the flying field next time. Re the C130, yes it took some practice to get it flying reasonably slow. I don't tend to want to get the speed too low on early flights. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
