I skip to the end to make sure there's a happy ending then I officially start the book.

I do the skipping and going back thing all of the time. I just did it with the book I finished last night.😂

I DON’T UNDERSTAND THIS

i think as a reviewer there's nothing that spoilery about telling the trigger warnings especially if the book deals with some heavy topics....it's helpful and kind of prepares the reader if they want to pick up the book or not. I've seen more authors writing the trigger warnings recently bc honestly you never know what can trigger you until you read it.

I hear ya! I totally get where your coming from and that’s why I still try to put tws in my reviews when I remember to!

If in a book there is ascene where someone is dreaming . I completely skip it. Not even skim. I just move on until the character wake up.
@AvivasLibrary Жыл бұрын
Hahahahhaa omggg why?? Maybe the dream is a suppressed memory and will be important later!
@nothanks1993 Жыл бұрын
But normal they either rehash out the dream later on with another person . ( telling love interest that flashback). I’m just reading the same thing twice. Or it’s love scene that never really happen. Especially when it’s their Epiphany moment when they realise they are interested in that person. I would prefer to see it play out “in real life”. Really just unnecessary filler.

I don’t buy any physical books unless I read them as ebook first 😂 I HATE to have a book that I don’t like 🫣

I’m not looking forward to the ACOTAR show. I know we’re going to be disappointed lol i won’t watch it until one of my fellow ACTOAR nerds watches it and can vouch for it lol

Hahah people are gonna vouch for it no matter what - I’m not looking forward to it but I’m gonna watch it anyway… I’m just not looking forward to it forever skewing my perspective on how I look at the books because of whatever visuals they decide to give us

I love this video! I skip chapters in the past, especially if the book continuously goes back and forward in time. I absolutely hate time jumps. Very few books manage to pull it off for me.

i get what you mean about it not being the reader’s responsibility to give tws, but i think there are some exceptions, like colleen hoover doesnt believe in giving tws, but if you went into it ends with us without tws i feel like it could be really bad

Yea I hear that! I think it’s a very book by book situation.. I think if I read something and then was like woeee okay I wish I knew that Going into it… I would think it’s something that should be public knowledge

I don't have it hashed out either, but I get what youre saying about the booktube community :v since reading much more in 2022 and watching lots of videos, inserting myself more in this world and all... it's definitely not all roses and love around-the-clock Or maybe it is. In a veiled attempt at masking, perhaps

Confession: I really don't understand the hype around Colleen Hoover 😂😂 I read Verity and it wasn't all that great, and completely turned me off from her other books.
@AvivasLibrary Жыл бұрын
I get why so many people pick up her book… but I’m not personally a fan after trying three of them - I think her writing is very simple and her books are fairly short, so it’s easy for beginners to get into and read her stories quickly. And she has a way of overdramatizing her stories, so people who aren’t huge readers get easily pulled in to her books.

Ok I know this confession is going to make me sound like a jerk but I gotta say it ☺️ I won’t read an author that has a dumb pen name… Because my thought process is if you have a cheesy ass pen name is your book going to be cheesy too? Haha I just can’t. 🫠
