Hi Terry thanks for the video as usual great content, question what is the difference from what you are saying in this video to say changes to your contract of employment, I know section 5 of Terms of Employment (Information) Acts 1994-2014 sets out that an employer must give the employee at least 1 months notice for the introducing any changes to the contract. Is what you are saying here and changes to a contract of employment essentially the same? In order to be successful in the WRC must what the employer is trying to get you to do be a completely different role to what where initially employed to do?

Frank, what I am referring to is a rigid, inflexible approach by the employee to any reasonable requests from the employer, but which may not have been specified as a task in the contract of employment.A contract might have a few bullet points of responsibilities and duties but I would also insert "the above is not an exhaustive list and you are expected to follow the reasonable direction of the employer, supervisor, manager" etc. Changing the contract or changing a term is a different kettle of fish. I I am referring to someone who may be taken on as a receptionist, for example, but who will not do a bit of typing when requested, or help out in some other reasonable way. Hope that's clear.
