The bar have an obligation to accommodate a diversity, whatever it might be so Irish judicial system will fail miserably if they don't accommodate Semon plain and simple. If they don't accommodate him all them barrister's and sr councillors are loosing credibility and become an absolute fonieys. What if the person who is owed the money objects, does the court just say tough luck, the defaulter gets away with it? How can a debt go unpaid for twelve years and no action taken against them? Is this just a way of getting money to the elites? How about properties in long term default, are they being allowed to default to destort the property market and keep houses unaffordable to the masses? Wouldn`t it be better to kick the defaulters out and put those 20,000 houses in long term default on the market so that prices will plunge for young people trying to buy a house, who would then also benefit from more choice? What about the banks we bailed out, did we bail them out so that other people can get to borrow millions and not have to pay it back? So many questions, so few answers.

If this was happening in Israel and Simeon Burke was a Palestinian Barrister being being refused a position to complete his training under every Barrister in Israel he asked what would be said? Would it be classified as bigotry and discrimination? The law in Ireland is all about politics, keeping in with the right people and who you know.

I find it fascinating how some people think Simeon is being hard done by. His whole family have shown time and again to be totally unreasonable to work with and prepared to escalate legal actions at a whim. I can see why someone wouldn't hire him to walk their dog, never mind something that could bring massive negative consequences on their business. I purchased a house in 1989, advertised as freehold, the previous owners had purchased the lease or I think so from the documents that I have, my name is not on that folio, but is on the house folio. I have never received a demand for rent and don’t know what if anything I should do. I don’t intend to sell the property as it is our only property and therefore our home. Originally lease of 999 years and built in or around 1975. Unlikely I will outlive the lease. 😂😂

Weird that they still have a system of "training" people that will be competing for the same work once qualified. The words open and transparent are being flogged to death recently but the bar can hardlt claim to be. If we dont allow certain people to join then we cant claim practicing law to be a meritocracy, which it should be, fair and impartial. The law claims to treat everyone equally but money buys you a bigger chance of not being punished if you break it. Whole system needs a check.
