I look under my hood fairly often , i did notice corrosion on my terminal, i kept forgetting to take in , O'Reillys tested battery and said battery was weak , took to dealer , they replaced battery, but i didn't know corrosion gives a bad reading.

a dealer??? are you kidding? Costco is where you buy a battery, then go to any auto store and ask for a battery corrosion protective spray, very cheap

Cool. Also, make sure engine is off when you open the hood until you learn basic safety procedures around a running engine.

Some people would rather look for their AAA membership card rather than open their hoods to check on fluids, battery etc. I never understood why they would spend $70k for a vehicle and expect everything to just be peachy.

Thank you for the view and that correct comment. I will never understand why people will not look under the hood. Even when they are buying a car, new or used. Thanks again.

It should be part of the licensing course and test. You need to have a basic understanding of car maintenance. My buddies girlfriend seized up her engine because she didn't know what a dipstick was or how to check it and had no interest in learning. Makes my skin crawl! My mother had a flat tire and called a tow truck to have it towed to a tire shop. Meanwhile, she has a spare, jack, and wrench in the trunk. Yes, they deserve car problems and the repair bills! Lol

my nissan does this all the time on both terminals even over multiple batteries swaps, but my audi never does it

Thank you for the view and that comment. Once the plastic to lead post fit starts to seep acid, it only gets worse. Being rough on the connections (forcing the terminals off) promotes the leakage.
