GP5000 C is among the best you can ride for racing. Never had a flat on them in 15000km and they roll very well. For short TTs on okay roads, I choose the Veloflex Record. It has no puncture protection, but it’s over 10W faster than the Conti. Which is worth it for a short event where you know the road surface.

My exact experience as well. From trying most top tires I settled for Pzero TLR\SL and I still got the old GP5000 on my winter bike. I´m still waiting on GP5000 S to be available. Higher rolling resistance is a big trade but I´m always confident on chosing slower tires especially during 150Km-dark-rainy-cold rides away from home.

I've used the Vitoria Corsa Speed and I had a few flats on training rides. Wished I could have used these but just couldn't trust them for racing. I used the GP4k and GP5k. #freespeedfriday 👌

I hear if you run the Corsa tubeless they are more manageable since they can seal any flats. I really want to trust them because of how fast they are but I just don't 🙁

Hi Eric, thanks for your video. I have a quick question. I currently use Gp5000 with latex. I am thinking of going tubeless. Is Gp5000 tubless faster than GP5000 with latex?

Great question. The tubeless version of the 5000 is on par with the standard 5000 w/ latex. The real benefit of tubless is the flat protection.

Are you still using GP5000? I have got more flats on it whether using tubeless or latex. Have you tried Pirelli p zero?

Yup, still on the GP5000. I have them set up with a standard tube for day-to-day riding but use latex for race day.

It’s the kind of details that seems to only be discussed on slow twitch forums or odd places like that but it’s fantastic information.
