Hi Wendy! I tried to comment earlier and it didn't 'take'-- so I hope this doesn't get doubled. I've been subscribed to your channel for well over a year and I LOVE your videos. I've learned a lot from you! I've been working with Resincrete for a few months, and have also tried Aquacast (now that it's able to be shipped to the US!) and hydrostone for comparison. I had the same problem with "how much to mix to fill my mold" until I realized that Elichem has a "mold calculator" on their website for use with Aquacast. It makes things SO SIMPLE. Aquacast is 100g:35g and that ratio works fine for Resincrete. It extends the work time by a few mins, which is great. I think on the back label of the Resincrete pouch it even states that 35g of water is ok. Anyway, it's great to not have to guess and then quickly make more, or have too much. I've learned to add about 10ml to the total mold volume and that seems to be just right. However, as with resin, I always have another mold nearby for any extra and at this point, I have several nice Resincrete pendants and earrings! Thanks again for your awesome videos! 💙💜

You are so down to earth & humble, which is what partially draws me all the way from Canada to watch your video's ! 😊 You're also very creative and not afraid to think outside the box ... even if it is a fail. You just pick yourself back up, dust off the resincrete powder and move forward ! And as a bonus, you typically find a way to correct your mistake, allowing your viewers to see you in a vulnerable way. This only reinforces the fact that we are ALL human. I for one, am impressed that you don't edit those parts out because we do all learn something from it thats truly valuable. We all make mistakes, especially when math is involved ! Once again, I thank you for taking us on this journey with you ! Knowing you & your perseverance, next time I'm willing to bet that you'll be making a replica of the Leaning Tower of Pisa out of resincrete !! All the best !

I have been using resincrete since last winter. I really love it. I will say I made an elephant pot with a mould I bought from Temu with it. I made it white because I didn't know how to tint it. I didn't make enough and when I added more I did get a faint line where the two layers met. I didn't expect that to happen with something I made with the same product from the same bag. It didn't matter since I painted it. But just an FYI. I still have the elephant and it hasn't come apart or broken.

Just an little tip; when measuring the volumn you need by using water in the mold first 1 fluid ounce requires 40 grams of powder and 12 grams of water. So, for example, if your mold holds 3 fluid ounces of water you would need to mix 120 grams of powder with 36 grams of water. Love the pieces you made. JD has also come out with color pigments for the Resincrete.

I have only seen one other crafter use resincrete.....Steve McDonald. He's in the UK like you.

As I understand it, companies send out their new products to lots of people to review and publicise it 😀😀 I know Steve is in the UK 😀 Never met him though 😀😀💜👍

@@Toonpish I just meant that if you were wanting ideas to make with the resincrete, he's a good resource. I like that you do experiments with resin (and other materials), and show us the successes and the failures.

Love that owl! Is this similar to plaster? Will is break if you drop it from a couple of feet off the ground? I like resin because it’s pretty sturdy, I’m just wondering how this compares.
@Toonpish Жыл бұрын
Well I haven’t tried to break anything yet 👀😳 but plaster takes much longer to cure. Maybe I should try that though 😱😳

I picked up a package of resincrete a while ago, I just haven’t figured out exactly what I want to try making with it yet… and truthfully, I’ve been a bit scared of it too. 😅

It’s just the measurements that is a little awkward 😳😂 but it’s a lot of fun 👍💜

I’ve now got some Resincrete but not the pigments. Can you use spray paint on the finished piece?

I did it wrong the first time, too. 😅 I used that same turtle mold and the legs and tail broke off. My fault as I was too rough in the de-mold. I also just got the mica you're using and I am greatly disappointed. I spent about $37 plus postage to the US, and I bet I could pour the mica from all 6 tiny pots into one pot. I think it's a rip-off
@Toonpish Жыл бұрын
Oh I’m so sorry to hear that 😳 they are super pigmented and you need such a small amount of them. I really hope you like them once you try them as the colours are fantastic. Thank you for the comment 😀😀💜
@judyeuller7602 Жыл бұрын
@@Toonpish I tried them yesterday and, as you said, a little goes a long way and the colors are intense. So, I like them very much, but I still think that they are overpriced.🙃

How heavy is resincrete in relation to regular epoxy resin.
@Toonpish Жыл бұрын
I’ve not weighed it but it is definitely heavier. Maybe double the weight 🤔🤔🤔
