Johnson County is very heavily policed, which I appreciate! I relocated here from a small city that allowed crime unrestrained. I have been here for a few months and continue to be shocked by the number of police I see on a daily basis! People keep the speed limit for the most part - also a big plus for me. Most drivers are courteous - not too many spastics like where I came from. My son lives in an expensive area and I can't believe how the wind blows right through the house - so drafty and cold in the winter! The climate includes the coldest cold, hottest & most humid hot, and very windy. Spring and fall are pretty. We haven't found as many *good* restaurants as expected & it's very difficult to find ones that do not use MSG (I thought that went away in the '80's!).

This is great information! Thank you for adding. It has been really windy these past few months, and you're right, we do have some extreme temperatures here. I wish MSG was done away with a long time ago too!

Drivers are courteous ? You must be driving a scooter. Every single person runs the red in overland park. You literally have to wait 5-8 seconds after it turns green to go or get t-boned.

@@Jv-fn5xg is spouting FACTS! And that is the tip of the iceberg for OP drivers.

I am 58. I have driven all over the US and in every major city. OP has the WORST drivers in the country. WAY worse than drivers in LA and NYC combined. Period. I will die on that hill. Also, chiming in for Lees Summit. Great place, and growing by leaps and bounds.

Boulder Springs in Spring Hill KS is nice. OP sucks because all the trees. Some people like OP, but I don’t. I do installation work through out KS. High winds or storms, I already know I’ll be in OP on a utility pole.

What about independence Missouri and liberty?

LS is the OP of Missouri. I will add Raymore and Belton to the list. Both not far from OP

Those are great additions! Both Raymore and Belton seem to be growing very quickly.

It’s a strange point to make because even in old kcmo they seem cookie cutter just older. They were still mass produced in the same way. Just a lot more from the same time period in Overland Park. If you go to St. Louis or any other city from before WW2 the houses look exactly the same too. Great vid tho

Eh, there’s more architectural complexity involved in building those Tudor style homes you see around KC and in cities like Westwood/Westwood Hills. Real brick/stone exterior, etc. just harder to find (and do) with today’s building materials/prices.

I lived in LS for 5 years. Hated it. Been in JOCO for 25 years. Wouldnt cross the state line again.

May I ask why? I'm not familiar with either location and am just gathering information, so very interested in why you hated LS and why you're loving JOCO. Thanks.

Overland park has great "rated schools " but they all lack in academic levelness compared to the rest of the country. Look up reading levels for graduates of any joco schools.
