I grew up in the area and Sugarland peaked in the early 2000's.

Outside of what you can’t control (weather, etc), I’ve lived in the SL area over 20 years and I’ve never seen anyone with a gun. Also, I’ve only heard of power going out a handful of times but it’s all Houston area, not just SL. Transportation has never been an issue and it’s nice to not have huge buses running in the streets. The only thing I would agree on is the cost of living and it shows in the beautiful city. It’s clean and organized.

I agree with you on some points, I really think it differs on everyone’s Point of views and how people want to live, I grew up in Sugar land and it was a great place to grow up, with that bieng said, SL is a family oriented small city, that’s all it is for the most part, family’s. I respect that but I’m 27 now, I’ve never cared for starting a family. The sugar land AND Houston transportation system is an ABOMINATION. We are very much a car dependent city, if you don’t have a car in SL, your fucked. But then again, like I said, it’s all up to what someone’s preferences are. People are very different.

Transportation : Any town away from Houston will obviously have less public transportation, Open carry that's a Texas thing and been here more than a decade have yet to see 1 person walking around open carry, that's more of those lil country towns IMO. Cost of living : There's plenty inside the loop cost even more, seen the heights, mid town, river oaks.? , Weather: Houston and Sugar Land is just divided by Stafford, TX which is only 2 exits long lol. I'm sure there's not 1 person that will say OMG it's hot in Sugar Land, I'm going to Houston for cooler weather! and for the winter freeze no matter where you were in Texas i you were lucky you were lucky. A few things I can sure point out for those searching cities to move to is that you can drive up to any highway light and not be engulfed by panhandlers or trashed up intersections like Houston has. If ever need police they will show up in minutes, not hours like in Houston, and oh yeah schools are diverse and better rated than in town Houston which is reason I decided to move back here mainly. Just a few pointers for those people needing to heard from some one who's lived here a while. That is all, just had some free time lol deuces.

I agree but at the same time, I grew up in sugar land but it’s mostly just family’s, I’m not a family man so that’s why I moved away from SL, also if you don’t have a car in SL or Houston, your absolutely fucked, no zoning laws, plus, people have very different ideals on how they wanna love, like I said I grew up in SL but I moved up north because I prefer cold weather, living in SL is like living in an 250 degree oven 8 months out of the year.

The only thing you discussed that was centered around Sugarland was the cost of living. Every other point could be viewed as a Texas generalization that can happen anywhere. I’m not understanding the message you’re trying to convey? What you’re talking about can happen anywhere in Texas.

I’m coming from Michigan and find your video helpful. In Michigan you can experience all four seasons in one day or just a few hours. Should I buy a generator? How bad is racism in TX? ( I’m black) should I carry?

@livinginhoustontexas18 Жыл бұрын
Nope not really. We get hurricanes but there haven’t been many hurricanes that have been important enough to talk about. We had hurricane Harvey and Ike in the last 15 years but other than that nothing too crazy. Flooding is fine as long as you stay away from particular parts of the city.

@@livinginhoustontexas18 Dont buy a house next to a creek, a river or in a flood zone. The 2017 floods exposed any area that could flood. Now you know where not to buy.

This is a horrible video .... (10) people looking to live in a suburb with master planned communities are not looking for public transportation. (2) the weather of not having all the seasons impacts about 50% of the US population.

@@livinginhoustontexas18 you said, if you want to experience all seasons. Also you are only thinking of very hot. But we have parts of the country that are very cold for 6 months of the year. So when you add it all up, about 50% of the country is very hot or very cold or doesn't not really experience all of the seasons.
