This held way more than i anticipated--thanks for a great upload! The algorithm gods sent me a good one :) I'm a musician not an artist, but after a head injury in 2017 i started drawing. I haven't known how to describe it but Klee, Kandinsky, and Miro are some of my faves and i'm just realising that it's the same dam thing, without me taking the final step of painting it out/turning it into something. This gives me ideas--thank you again!

Thank you so much for your kind comments and your questions!!😊🙏 Yes, I have a channel: www.youtube.com/@RobtheArtTeacher Regarding Paul Klee, that's a big question you ask 😏 and I would suggest two starting points - line and color - to empower you to decipher his compositional organisation for yourself. Line: Try to cancel out narrative, pictorial references, and color, and just focus on the lines in his paintings. A good idea is to make a line copy of one or two of his paintings... Then think of his phrase "taking a line for a walk" and try to imagine where his line drawing started, and se how he 'grows' the composition around the gradual construction of a scaffolding of line drawing. Then try that method for yourself. Color: The logic behind many of his paintings is the way he builds up blocks of harmonious colour relationships that are then energised by selective use of small shapes painted in brighter and bolder contrasting hues... He distributes these to lead our eye in a constant 'walk' around and within the whole composition.

I am looking for books on paul klee's teaching unfortunately the only ones avaialble are his lecture notes volume one. This is about 250USD are there any resources that you know of where his lectures and theries can be found, my preference is not to get some of the cheaper writings about him but rather read about his theories directly, as he was a teacher

There are a couple of books about his teaching, and there is also a vast online catalogue of his works. Here are some links. Will do a look through for the nine lessons of his form theory, as discussed by the Bauhaus Kooperation link, hopefully there is an English translation of these lessons. Appreciated the link to the Pedagogical Notebook (which I did not know about) and although I did not have the chance to go through it in detail seems similar to Kandinsky's Point and Line to Plane. (Thankfully they are in English). I am quite surprised there are not more widely available for Klee English translations available compared to Matisse or Kandinsky.
