I can't tell you how many times I have talked to a new RV'er in a campground that had no idea you were supposed to leave the black tank closed. While it might be a nasty topic to discuss, you're doping the Lords work amigo!! 😉 Thanks for the shout out as well!!

I feel like it’s our calling to educate the masses. 😁 I was planning a whole black tank flush video and then you guys released your video. Yours was so well done that I decided to scrap it and just reference your video. Since we did have a poop pyramid problem I decided we needed to share our experience (much to the chagrin of Gina). Ah, the joys of YouTubing.

And yet, people will still argue about leaving the tanks open as being ok. All tanks need to be kept closed.

Some people just need to learn the hard way.

I expect most of us learned the hard way. Number one thing is water, it makes the whole thing work. Also what I do occasionally when flushing is fill the bowl to the top then let it go all at once, 2 or 3 times. An interesting observation I've only seen with seasonal campers is they have constructed a "P" trap in their flexible sewer line. You would think that only necessary if the black tank valve is always open, which certainly wouldn't work. Still waiting to catch someone that can tell me

I’m guessing they believe the “P” trap in the flexible sewer line keeps gases out of the rig when the gray tank valve is open. This isn’t really necessary since all of the internal gray water drains already have “P” traps. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
