Kill the French is a good book to read. You still need to know some basics though. It has many transparent words. Also Olly Richards has a french stories book but I think that is a bit harder for me. So I'll save it until my vocabulary is bigger. There's is also a site called learning A-Z if you create an account you can download a limited amount of kids french books for free.
