Great video Marc (just getting caught up). That tip about turn around, ouch, that's something I really struggle with. It's just tough finding the time when life gets in the way.

Thanks Wayne! And you're not wrong there on turnarounds.

I think a big mistakes that photographers make is forgetting to wear earplugs. There are several companies that make ear plugs for concerts that help reduce the damage done to your hearing, while maintaining some fidelity of sound. I never go to a concert without some form of hearing protection, it really does help considerably, and your elder self will thank you.

Glad to know I follow all these “ rules “ 🤓 And yeah disrespectful photographers are sooo bad . I’ve been ashamed of some of my colleagues plenty of times and sometimes I get to say sorry for their behaviour 🫤 Thanks for your content … I’m Coming from Instagram and loving everything I’m watching here ! Congrats !

I almost always start editing photos as soon as i get home from shooting. I have a bunch of presets already done in Lightroom and can typically have them all edited and uploaded to Facebook before i go to bed. That really depends on how tired I am and the amount of photos taken. I just shot a 3 day long music festival here in Seattle, and was able to cull and edit them the same night, except for night 3, i was too tired and had taken almost 1000 photos, so i spent the following day doing those =o] I defiantly don't like to keep people waiting if i can help it.

Great video. I'm catching myself always taking a bit too long to turn around photos. How much do you shoot a night and how many shots do you pare it down to?
@mleachphoto Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Oh god, most gigs I can shoot over 1000 photos easy 🤣 I narrow down to favourites and final images. Most of the time it will be 4-6 for a support band, 10-12 for a headline band.

What metering mode do you use for small band concert photography please?

@@williambeadle1075 I never really touch metering modes. No point!

When doing gig work do you use two cameras?

I just use the one camera. Have tried to be a two camera person, and it just ain't happening

Those damn stickers... Maybe it's just me, but I often have to gaffer tape them to me to stop them falling off!

I hear you, but nothing beats having a sticker pass 😁

@@mleachphoto I was thinking I might get a lanyard holder for around the neck for summer season... Great video by the way, all of them so obvious, once someone tells them to you!
@mleachphoto Жыл бұрын
@@irishmj aw thanks man! And yeah I have thought about a lanyard too, but 90% of the gigs where I'm from. Are a photo pass wristband... Not as exciting

@@mleachphoto Ahh look, as long as I get some of them, I'll wear whatever they want me to! Just got the ok to shoot the Stunning in King Johns Castle this morning, that'll be great, got a few smaller festivals also lined up, but I still have weekends to fill. When you're not attached to a publication, it can be quite difficult getting by the first enquiry! But still, we persist!

I don't let them wake up without photos. Typically means I'm editing till 5 in the morning like a crackhead 😂
