I worked on a Data Mesh project at Microsoft and it was complete mess. Just a huge waste of money. Glad I left that mess of a project. Super over complicated for no reason.

I still like the old way better. There are a lot of new ways to create data warehouses like lakehouses, but with adding new technology some concepts in the old stack were thrown out.
