I think my interests (shows, video games) inspired me. Like once I joined the OSC community, I started seeing this banger art , which always amazes me how people can draw such beautiful art pieces with just objects with limbs. And then I would say my second inspiration was the Undertale/deltarune fandom. There's so many beautiful art pieces, comics, and animations that inspire me so much. Also an honourable mention is my mom. I don't think she knows that I draw talking goats and skeletons, but she still supports me. Most of the time she doesn't even know what I'm drawing, but she likes seeing that I enjoy drawing so she compliments me which honestly makes me so happy.

Yeah, cartoons and video games were what inspired my art and myself, I don't really have much to say about it, doing experiments once in a while. Using new brushes will help you to understand how you might improve yourself and if you're lucky you can actually start drawing backgrounds easier! Just open a empty canvas and start experimenting with brushes,draw anything you want,fill the canvas and uh i guess have fun

I personally get inspired to create pretty much only through input from others. I love visualizing the ideas others have, I love drawing other peoples characters from a reference in my own art style and I love drawing all the ideas me and one of my best friends have when obsessing over any fictional character. So it comes down to being inspired by friends, (small!) art communities and commissions. I have found that larger art communities often make you feel unseen if you don't already have a following or are extremely skilled. I personally recommend art discord groups that focus on a topic that you like. To me it's mostly been ARPGs.

What inspires me to create is the ability to express myself without words or descriptions or yk, since i do struggle expressing my emotions sometimes, from crying uncontrollably and not knowing how to talk to someone to not being able to cry at all, so art is sort of like a different way of speaking who i am without having to say words. and also tbh, so many things in life are beautiful and inspire me so much as well. it’s something that makes me and others really happy, and i also want to inspire others with my art. anyways loving the new video viyaura >:)
@Lunaofthenight6 ай бұрын
yeah- same! expressing emotions through art can be helpful for ur mental health. and i just like to look around me for new inspirations, such as nature and buildings and explore new styles to draw. it helps me focus on things i actually like. after i am done drawing i feel fresh and so much more energetic. i try to show my art to others to seek validation from them aswell. but after i get critisized OBVIOUSLY i feel sad but then i take it as a challenge to become better. and if i make it better, it just makes me happier. i do it for myself and to help me in growing and sharing my emotions. not with people but with art. edit: got a little carried away there- SORRYY LOL😅💗

Self deprecating is a thing I used to do a lot when I was younger, sometimes I would show my art to someone like a class mate or friend, and they would say “wow you drew this?!” But other times they would say, “oh cool” and that made me think they didn’t like it, and I got very hard on myself and kept saying to myself, “my arts not good, nobody likes it, I’ll never be good at art” and it made me very upset, and for a while I just stopped drawing because I thought would never be good at it, I started again a few years ago and seeing this really helps!

The warmup sketches thing is interesting to me, because my 'warmup' is often to just write out a passage from some book or other in 'showy' cursive to get my limb loose. That's really what the warmup is for, is getting you a bit loose so that you aren't tense while actually drawing. I also find tracing being underrated comes from a fundamental misunderstanding. People see 'tracing' and think 'copying to claim as own'. When used as a learning tool, it's more 'breaking down how they got there', and can provide a LOT of insight about what does and doesn't work.

Every time I make a new character I make a sort of work shop (lots of people call it different things!) that includes the characters aesthetics, personality inspirations, design inspirations, everything I need to tell me who the character is before I draw them. IT IS NEVER FINAL! I almost always change at least a few things in the final design but it really helps! Also since I used to struggle a lot with same body syndrome, I started taking some of the shapes in the design inspirations and tracing parts of them - like sometimes I’d trace a leg or a tail or a head shape and implement it into the character and the pose. This helps me perfect the character’s unique shape and helps me get used to drawing unique shapes better! My last couple character references have only had one instance of tracing a shape. I highly reccomend it! Just remember not to trace to the point where you’re stealing another person’s character or idea

7:50 here’s how I think about it let’s say you got 20 likes on a drawing, that’s not a lot right? But if 20 people came up to you when you were drawing and said that it was good, I would feel thankful, because if 20 people say they like your art then it has to be good, because there are artists out there who aren’t even getting one like

honestly after taking art history 1 and 2 in college as a certified art major aiming for a fine arts associates degree as grueling as it was it really helped me improve my skills without me realizing it.

VERY true about warm up-scetches and taking breaks. With warm up-scetches, only do 'em if you're feeling uninspired or tired or something.

0:48 I trace stuff all the time so I can make my stuff look better I don't like choice random people heads. I usually trace when I'm trying to draw but if I am trying to draw a head, I usually don't trace
@PandaClou6 ай бұрын
it really just depends on how you trace like if you are spreading false info like "oh i made this myself" when you traced it thats overrated but if you do it to study and practicing through that thats underrated

I think what inspired me is video editing and animation, I usually do video editing for school projects but I sometimes had to make animations for scenes that my classmates couldn't act. During all those projects, I always felt some sort of flick within me, then there I just suddenly started drawing and drawing and here I am, kind of decent but I am proud to have reached this level, also YT is a real one for recommending this🔥

My art turns out good because I draw everyday but I do weekly challenges. These are challenges where I pick a way to draw and try use it lots through out the week. 1 week I might choose digital and 1 might be paint. This really helped me also unlock new skills, like colour as I'm not someone who likes paint and colour pencils

Idk i keep maintaining tracing is not good on anything, like that "it helps to you know where put your hand" is so "imma use Training wheels in a bicycle competition training because it helps you stay balanced" and when the competition starts you have 0 idea how to do it without them
@stetson_newsie26003 ай бұрын
I would challenge this by saying this does not equate to a bicycle competition. Someone who is at the beginning of their art journey does not need to worry about being at a competitive level yet. It is much closer to a younger child learning to ride a bike. Eventually you want to take off those training wheels, but in art it's a bit different as well. Riding a bike is more like one skill. Art is much more broad. You might take off those 'training wheels' for one art technique, but still have them on for others you haven't learned yet.
@DeuxViews3 ай бұрын
@@stetson_newsie2600 is not about being competitive, its about doing thinks by yourself, you can watch 1000 youtube tutorials to learn how to do anything but if you never do it that will not happen, just like tracing, you can say is helpful but if your only way to learn is tracing then its not a way to learn, its a excuse, also even tho if someone does it to learn, without posting it or saying is he own drawing, it can help but just like how to handle the pen to do differents lines, longer shorter bla bla, but there's better and more efficient ways to learn it
