When you need position on the next shot, balls sitting in the corner pockets are best played when the cue ball is near a rail, either the end rail or side rail.

This is simply the best pool channel on youtube. Why? Because Al is always showing real match scenarios and not some ultra hard skillful useless drills. I learned a lot here. Seems to me top right shoul give better shape on the 14

Top Right would bring you right on the line of the 14. Probably leaving you straight on it. But yes, you'd be closer. Playing the 13 with bottom, would also give a decent angle on 14 to get to 8.

The bar I go to we play last pocket. Cause they say straight 🎱 is too simple.

Then you would need to take the 14 first, with precision shooe on 13, to stun over. Like I did in the one example, and nearly scratched off the 8.
