Avoid This BIOS Mistake: Save Your S37 Rig!

To address some specific comments. I have added chapters where i did cover the information to certain questions in comments so far. I also would like to point out that there is a JUMPER for Auto reboot on my S37 board as WELL as the bios feature i show in the film. The last chapter was the board NOT seeing the thumb-drive as it seems to be buggy when there are multiple bootable drives plugged in. SanDisk Drives are Walmart cheap and available DO NOT USE THIS FOR YOUR BUSINESS. That memory is terminally slow and has a high failure rate. I prefer Kingston it doesn't cost more and suggest you order some from Amazon. Idletools now has parts being listed via per project with these how to videos going next to the parts so that you know when you buy you have someone to help you build. Your part seller is not going to do it.

@@IdleTools The power supplies did? I haven't found a good source for them at a good price yet, bought from Parallel Mining. I've found some videos of people adjusting the screw to up or lower the voltage while under load but I am guessing each PSU will have it in a different spot with no markings.

I have a problem: Motherboard BIOS setting: s37 I’m trying to install HiveOs: I need to turn off the motherboard’s internal GPU. When I do that and I reboot, I get the message that I have to put it back on. I connect my hdmi cable to my RTX 3070. Isn’t that correct? ‘Warning! Onboard GPU card detected. Please disable onboard GPU card in BIOS settings. When i disable GPU onboard in Bios’, i get this message. ‘error: no suitable video mode found. Booting in blind mode Trying to terminate EFI services again’ Is there a solution?

thats a master class on bios setup.. iam testing this motherboard.. i found it wont turn on with 4 zotac 3060ti lhr but if i use a 1x to 16x riser "common riser" it boot. not the power supply.. i have use 3 3060ti lhr and 2 3060ti all from zotac and it work. it wont work with 3 3060ti lhr and 3 3060ti.. i can put all the cards with risers... very strange.

I have seen that my samsung rx580 board wont boot when it was in riser 3 but would boot if i put it in riser 1 and moved the other rx580's over. This is a gpu problem and i wouldn't blame the board think i will do a video on just that for this questions specifically.

I've never been able to get this mining board to recognize my gpus. I installed hiveos and could not see my GPUs in the hiveos interface. I then try to install the nice hash operating system through my thumb drive. Nice Ash mentioned something about disabling video, so I went into BIOS and disabled one of the video functions and now I can't see the screen anymore or make any adjustments. I'm trying to reset the bias several times by shutting down the power and taking out the battery, but that doesn't fix the problem. I'm now working in the dark trying to figure out how to get the screen back.

did the same thing on one board but I have never had issue with installing hiveos. I can say use 64gig drive or bigger

Did you see any settings to enable mSATA? Tried 2 msata drives (same model, U100 Sandisk) and power LED on but drive shows nowhere.

The Msata is drive zero its automatic. SanDisk is something I would not recommend for any type of ssd or drive use. The quality is so bad and thier speeds are terrible. buy a used kingston in the future like i did. it wasn't a cost savings but a preference of quality. Once you remove the thumbdrive it should default to the msata drive or sometimes reboot without thumbdrive and reselect the msata f10 save and reboot again. You can not hotswap drives after you boot to bios you have to have what you want to installed prior to boot.

Just thought of this Robert cause i have done it myself with that type of connector. Check that you are not putting the cards UNDER the connector vs in the connector and they must be screwed down. There are 2 spots in bios remove the thumbdrive while you are setting your board up for production. If you have to do a file copy from thumbdrive to main drive to get system on the MSata always have the main drive fail then boot to thumb via main drive failure this should initialize both for you to get function done. Its very picky and I will be doing a follow up on hardware setup on this board.

Robert found your problem the u100 is a 3.0 disk and the boards are 2.0 there may be a firmware update for the sandisk to make sure its compatible. IT SHOULD BE. but you can't jump 2 generations and i suspect your new u100 is really 4.0 compatible and works with 3.0 I am putting together a compatible parts list as a buying guide on website now to help out haven't got to drive yet. BTC-S37 doesn't recognize rtx A2000 in HiveOS. I've updated nvidia drivers, hiveOS. It's still don't see it. Both motherboard and GPU are brand new. Any ideas? I got stuck here

Thank you for this excellent video on the btc-s37!! A question i had was, if im trying to power 8 rtx 3090s with this board, is it okay to split a (6+2)8 pin to the gpu and 1 to the 6pin on the motherboard itself? (my psu is a 2600 watt psu with only 8 total (split 8 pins) so basically 16 total 8 pins.(can i resplit these to power the mobo and the gpu, if thr gpu requires 2 x 8 pin vga connectors) Is it also okay to daisy chain multiple power supplies using a mobo splitter to power on the psus together? (for instance 4 x 750 watt psu?

4 750 watts isn't enough. the 400 wattmax 3090 actually spikes to 600 watts. that's just q card

k I haven't updated the bios on the motherboard and there is dozens of manufactures none with proper support. These are low cost chinese mass production also I would check for pci slot problems with this symptom I have had this issue with ram in msi motherboards when ram inserted into 3rd slot no boot. and on many of same model it was a production issue of cold solders on that slot

I have a Btc t37 running 7 cards on risers. Adding an 8th card causes instability and crashes of hiveos but 7 works. Only issue I have is the shutdown command in hiveos just causes the rig to freeze and I have to manually power cycle. Stable when mining

I think it is not related with BIOS settings. I have gigabyte 1660ti GPUs and my friend has Palit 1660ti GPUs. Only difference is their brands. Palit GPUs works on s37 but gigabyte GPUs does not work. So we swapped our main boards. Now my gigabytes works on BTC t37 and my friends palits are work with s37. Do not bother with bios settings, find a friend to swap mainboards :)

Hey, one of the issues I have with this board is that the GPUs are not being reported correctly, in their respective slots, within HIVEOS. Example is, GPU0 is an ASUS Strix Vega 64 bios modded to Vega 56. It is being reported in HIVEOS as being in slot 1 it is actually in slot 0. All GPUs are VEGA 64s modded to 56s. I can't find where to get the bios, or at least check to see it there is an update. I'm about to order a Q270 mobo as I just don't trust this BTC-S37. Cheap cheap...

That's hive I have same issue they identify in the order they respond. so certain brands no matter what slot windup gpu zero do to response speed

cant say and WOULD not try. You are plugging thousands of dollars into this rig. I utilized battery back up on all my electronics to prevent brown outs(low voltage condition) but especially power loss

I went back over the video and reviewed what i have. There is ALSO a power on jumper in the corner of my board check yours. They have to BOTH be set for auto power on.

Heya Muse I have the same board but am facing constant high load average, to the point the board doesn't mine nor respond. 1600w PSU powering first 3 6 pins on board (have tried 1 only as well), then 8 gpus plugged in. Any idea what would cause the high average load?

software bloat, high ping time of your pools, bad drives, bad memory, using a thumbdrive instead of a regular SSD, not using a big enough SSD. having less than 8gb of ram.

Can You show us working with 8 rtx 3000 series or 8 rx 6000 series , with low temps good hasrates ? ...... If u can ... This mobo has lot of issues.

I have the Btc t37 version. I am having issues where it freezes and won't turn off when issuing shutdown command in hiveos. I have configured the bios the same way you have suggested. Anything else I could try to fix it? Also I noted the the CPU is only a 1.4ghz celeron 877 and wonder if it is up to the task

dont have thsoe gpus to test with are you browning out your powersupply? the type of gpu should have no bearing on its bootablity. I run mixed rigs. some gpus just screw up the boot and its in the gpu itself.

how do you get into the bios? i'm not using the on-board hdmi port i'm plugging into an rx6600 gpu and i get video and can get into hiveos but i cannot get into the bios. i dont see anything on the very first startup until hive starts. What is the key to get into this bios? DEL? F12? ESC?

unplug your boot drive (so the usb, hdd, ssd, or nvme and it'll force itself to bios)

A GPU needs a pressurized box to flow air to rear of card or an enviroment that doesn't need that much control of heat.
