Thanks for creating these videos very helpful. I would like to point out one thing not mentioned about the HP server power supply. I did some research the 1200W is only available to people who are running at 220-240v. This makes sense since the servers that the power supply was made for are found mostly in data centers where 220-240v is readable available. For people in the USA running these from home on the standard 110-120v they will only be able to reach a max of 900W. If you pause the video at 10:19 you will see the voltage and wattage specifications clearly written. They are as follows: 100v: 800W 110-120v: 900W 220-240v 1200W As I said your videos are very helpful, and I am definitely going to buy one.

My set has arrived today. It has the BTC-S37 motherboard + big steel case (chassis), 256gb ssd with win10, 8gb ram, 2000w power supply, 3 case fans. I tested it briefly today and plugged in a wifi dongle, which worked immediately! The power supply is very noisy though, so I will swap it out for something around 1200watts. This week I've bought 7 gpus for it. 4x 1070, 2x 1080, 1x 1080Ti, all used for gaming but never used for mining. I'm excited to start mining with the rig but It will take me another week to get a smaller power supply... anyway, thanks for your videos. You have given me so much helpful information.

@@CabroAR i had it setup where i ran each slot powered by a single psu. those pci connections on the mobo each need power when you have a gpu installed in it. then each gpu needs its own dedicated power. for me, my gpus total power usage was less then 1600w and i had enough pci on the psu to run them all on the single power supply. then i powered each of the mobo's pci connectors from another psu.

@@CabroAR basically you need 35-40w per mobo pci express connection that has a gpu installed. you need to know a lot more then just which pci express connector needs power but whether or not you need to split the differences based on max wattage of your gpu. its a lot more complicated.

Bit of a noob question. If using risers, does the motherboard only need just the one power connection to slot one to power the board, then power each riser and graphics card, or does it need power to every six pin slot on the mother board plus the riser and card connected to that slot?

HI There. On the BTC-S37 motherboard there is a "STBLED" light. Do you have any idea what that light means? When I try to power the board it will just continually buzz and that green light for the STBLED is on. It was working fine for 30 days then I powered it down to add another card. I took all the cards off and it's still making the noise, and the light is on even with the board not powered on. I have tried googling my ass off, but can't find ANYTHING about the STBLED light. edit: I think it means STANDBY, which means it has power but it's not powered on. When I power it on, the fans spin, but it beeps at me 15 times, then a quick pause, and then 8 more times. I removed the RAM and got the 4 beep error, and when I removed the hard drive, it didn't change at all, so I have no idea what the issue is.

Hi, Thanks, the only way to increase amount of 8pins safely in my opinion is to use 1 8pin to two 6/8 pin splitters for Powering slots only as they don't draw too much power so will be ok, that should free up 4 cables, but might still be short, so possibly only 7 cards? @@nilsragnar1347 You can use a 6pin to 2x 6+2pin adapter. The 6 pin connector should be able to supply 288W from the power supply since it has 3 12V pins and each pin is supposed to be rated to 8A. It's not the perfect solution but the tolerance should be large enough that you can safely go beyond the specs a little bit.
