Just a tip. When I didn't want to receive phone calls from Camping World, I looked up the phone number of one of their stores and provided that to them instead of my number. Then whenever they called, they would be talking to one of their own stores. 😂

Camping World is the worst. When we began shopping for our first RV, my husband made it clear that I was the one in charge with the finances and I had clear input in our wants and needs. Well, the salesperson proceeded to direct all questions and information to my husband and never once spoke to me. He then called my phone daily leaving voicemails on MY phone and addressing my husband in every message. My husband thought he was great because he was treated with respect but I felt like a 2nd class citizen and will refuse to give them any business

Camping World irritated us so much that my wife won't even walk into one again. Nothing there I can't get on Amazon without the hassle. I wanted to return something and they said I needed an account to return it to which I replied, "I didn't need one to buy it so why would I want one to return it"? This seemed to baffle the girl behind the counter that I didn't "play along" with their ploy to get my contact info.

Camping World??? Why am I not surprised. A little trick I use on the online stuff where I don’t want phone call. I give my email address and I use my old home phone number or I use a business number that I know has a recording. I.E. Walgreens, CVS, Walmart. Those companies all have a recorded message to select the department you want to reach. So when the online company try’s to call me, well you know what happens now. 😂😂 Sorry, not sorry. I rarely ever give out my cell number unless I truly want to get a call.

Thank you so much for the information. We're brand new and we got talked out of a class c by some friends bc of hooking up then unhooking, move all your gear etc and how its easier to get a tt and have our truck for going to visit places. Do those class c tow a good size vehicle, i was told no? But you've been doing this so long and i love your videos, so I'm thinking you completely know what you're doing. We pick up our new to us camper this weekend. We did take the 5 hour drive, have an rv inspector look it over and approve it and now we're making the drive again to bring it home. I've never camped in my life so I'm excited, and esp at the fact that we bought used since we have no idea how it all will go. Ha. But your videos inspire me and make me think i can do this! 😃

We went to Camping world in St Aug last year and the salesman showed us a few trailers then when we went back inside, the salesman tried to get us to sign a contract saying we will buy one. I refused to sign and told him we were just beginning to look and we weren't buying today. He said very sarcastically that he never heard that before. Then he said he wanted us to meet his manager. I told him I didn't want to meet him. he ran out of the room to get him, we were feeling way too pressured about this and decided to leave immediately. The receptionist tried to intercept us and shoved some business cards into my wife's hands as we left the building. I took the cards from her and dropped them. We pretty much ran to the car and as we drove away, no kidding, the salesman ran out the door screaming for us to come back. That guy called and called for weeks even after I told him to stop calling. There's no way I would ever set foot on one of their lots again. that was the most terrible salesman experience we ever had.

If you are shopping for a towable RV (travel trailer or 5th wheel) PLEASE look at models from Outdoors RV or Northwood Manufacturing before considering ANYTHING from all the other manufacturers, which use frames built by Lippert. Outdoors RV (aka ORV) and Northwood both build their own frames and are sister companies to each other, located in LaGrande, OR. I'm the admin of about 5 FB RV groups for Northwood RVs and never once has anyone reported a problem with frame cracks, failures, damage, etc.

We actually WENT to a Camping World the beginning of 2023 because we saw a unit online that we were interested in. When we got there, they took all our information before seeing the unit. It turned out that the inside didn't look anything like the pictures, however we were just in the beginning of our RV search and we were upfront and told them that we were in NO RUSH to buy and that we were going to take our time buying what we wanted. LOL, well they blew my husband's phone up to the point that he ended up blocking numbers and not answering it. We found what we wanted at a dealership in PA and bought what we decided would work for us. My husband unblocked the number and whatya know? The phone rang within the hour! So they were still trying when the phone was blocked! He told them we had purchased what we wanted and at that point we required nothing more. Camping World was pretty much relentless! I know we will never deal with them again! Sorry you went through this.....because I feel that what you went through is really underhanded.

It's hard to research a lot of things these days. This is not RV related, but just an example: I was shopping for new health insurance back in April or May. I counted one day, over 50 text messages and voice mail messages from insurance brokers! This went on for weeks! It started lessening by the end of June or so, then stopped altogether by I'd say mid to late July. Then out of the blue, it started up again like at the end of Aug for a couple weeks. Just from ONE inquiry! I'm very leery of online shopping now. That was just too much! Love your videos!

You have to think on your feet when answering Camping World or Optimum. "Would you like to schedule a visit?" Yes, I would. How's the sixth Tuesday of this month sound? I tried going to General in Ocala to look at trailers with ramp doors for my handicapped wife. "Sorry sir, you're not allowed to go out there alone. I'll get a salesman". He never did let me out to look, just told me of all these trailers that wouldn't work.

Almost six years ago we were looking to buy our first RV and went to a Camping World dealer. We ended up purchasing a used C Class from a private owner that listed on RV Trader. To this day we still receive calls and emails from them every time they have a sale in progress. They just can’t seem to grasp the idea that we’re satisfied with our older model that has no payments and looks/runs great.

I saw your video 2 hours too late. I got a low ball valuation and then the calls and emails started. Luckily I had used a secondary email account for this purpose when I suspected this will happen and an unmonitored land line number. So while I'm seeing their frequent attempts to contact me they aren't interrupting me and no texts being received. Take away is I'll never do business with either company going forward even though CW just opened a store nearby.

FYI..Once you have told a solicitor not to call or text you, make note of that date and time you told them. And any calls they make afterwards, do not answer, BUT DO record. Going to small claims court you can sue for approx. $1200-$1500 for each call. This is harassment and it is against the law.

So I used the Good Sam Evaluator on a RV we were buying from Camping World and its evaluation was over 50k less than what they were selling it for and 70k less than what JD Powers website. They obviously changed their tactics because we used that valuator when we were searching over 2 years ago, and we were able to access the data instantly and we received no contacts from CW. I don't remember if they requested contact information from us at the time but I usually don't put my correct information in anyway, just to avoid the issues that you did. There was not a procedure at the time to enter our e-mail address to receive the valuation. Probably the decline in sales had them stepping up their game to SPAM as many people as possible!

The best way to guesstimate the value of your RV is to look online for the same RV being sold. And remember that things value depends on what people are willing to pay for it. Look at houses. The structure maybe worth nothing (wood and cardboard) and people change how much they are open to paying for it depending on many factors that have nothing to do with the actual physical value of the house.

I didn't have this happen with camping world, but I made the mistake of answering some questions on a survey about car insurance and got absolutely inundated with calls, text messages and emails from a couple different insurance companies trying to sell me their insurance. I never did get an actual quote from anyone. This went on for about 2 weeks - I didn't answer calls, but I did respond to texts and emails. Then the emails started up again today, a Sunday. I got 3 so far. I haven't answered them, but I am planning to write back, tell them (again!) to take me off their list, or I will report them to our state insurance board - and that I will absolutely never buy from their company because of their aggressive tactics and harassment. Let's see if that stops them! If not, I will follow through with my threat, and report them.
@TheTcswhite24918 күн бұрын
I just look for the specific make and model on RV Trader. That tells me the MARKET RATE as opposed to the dealer rates. A camping world about an hour away from me has the exact make and model I want, but listed at about $20k more than what else is available around the country. I did go to them to tour that model with my family to make sure it would work for us but the one that I'm likely to buy is 12hrs away. I knew I wasn't going to buy from them and did give the salesman $100 cash as I know he gets paid by commission and did take an hour of his time. They have tried to follow up however they're so far off the market price, they really don't have a chance. All that to say, RV Trader is the better way to determine what people are selling and buying specific makes and models for.

Camping World uses pushy sales tactics. I have friends who went into a Camping World and the sales guy was forcefully trying to get them to buy a camper and sign for a loan. They got up and left. Not a fan of Camping World. We had a very BAD experience on RV repairs that could have cost us our lives. We paid a lot of money for NO repairs. They are pushy and rude. We take our RV to an actual repair facility for maintenance and repairs and buy anything we need for our RV on Amazon or E Trailer.

I just had a much worse experience on Zillo under the same concept. It extends to insurance, home repairs, Kelley Blue Book price inquiries, it doesnt matter what the subject matter is. A simple, innocent pet insurance inquiry turned into a NIGHTMARE thats gone on for a year now. Im hounded by not just the original company I asked a price from but endless companies they sold my data to. At Zillo, i asked one question to one agent and instead got 9 agents hounding me to buy something. One calls at 530am! "Gee, sorry to call early but I cant seem to reach you any other time!" And that person is not even connected to my original agent. In ALL cases of price inquiries anywhere, they say the price is coming on the next page but after they have all your info they say it will be emailed to you. Then the flood comes. When you tell people to STOP, it only make it worse. No clue what to do.

You put your information into a lead generation website. Websites like E-surance, Selectquote, and other insurance quote sites do the same thing. Agents and salespeople sign up to receive leads by paying a fee for them. When you enter information it is sent to the lead purchaser and they are charged a fee for your info. I used to buy leads when I was an insurance agent. I never knew what the actual lead generating site was
