First major tip I am sharing is Never let anyone in Istanbul know you're going shopping. The Taxi drivers are not your friends. The People on the street striking up a conversation are not your friend. Do your own research. Plan your days, be smart give yourself options. Don't get tied into a situation. Don't pay for information. Don't use tour guides, Don't use personal shoppers. Don't use random IG, Telegrams, Whatapp accounts. Way too many Scams out there. We will talk about the scams in upcoming videos.

Another tip: watch for taxis canceling your ride while your in the car. Demand them to stop the car and hop out asap. I had this happen to me a few times. Luckily they stopped and I got out.

Excellent tips mate, watched alot of ur vids...going to ist later this year so im asking for a tip, where to tell the taxi driver to drive if i wanna go to the grand bazaar? And can i find those basic hilfiger shirts for 5-10€ like in alanya etc? Thank u in advance and keep up the good stuff 🙏🙏🙏

Feel free to contact me in IG or WhatsApp for any detailed answers. For the low quality stuff you will want to shop outside any of the bazaars. Also street markets have a lot of lower cost but lower quality items. As for a drop off location pick a near by restaurant, hotel or coffee to tell the driver. Just don’t tell him the spice bazaar or grand bazaar or any “market” or shop by name

This one shop owner in Istanbul (gran bazar) got so angry at me, because I asked a lot of questions about his watch, that he told me I will get beat up. Of course I stayed polite and told him that is unprofessional and rude, but I guess he didn't like it, that I called him out, that turkey doesn't produce fake rolexs, they import them from China or Vietnam. Bottom line, they can get very angry if you don't buy from them ...

Sometimes it happens for sure. I had some strange ones over the years get mad. Most people however are chill. The markets can be a lot of fun but sometimes people wake up on the wrong side of the bed.

@@Cris4tay_Official Due to the difficult economic situation and market transparency, customers know the real price as well as the origin of the goods, etc. This makes it difficult for sellers to rip off customers, and as a result, it reduces their profit margin. I have also noticed that they have become lazier; I was given the price first before being taken to the secret shop, and I had to agree to it without seeing the goods. I generally only pay a third of the initially quoted price, and even in negotiations, the bargaining was done in large steps rather than small incremen

Another hit to get embarrassed from my country. Great 😃
@Cris4tay_Official5 ай бұрын
You shouldn’t be embarrassed. Most taxis in all countries in major cities are usually or that good but Istanbul taxis are just on a different level of trickery.
