Glad I'm not the only one having these kinds of discussions or going deep into these fields of research. I've been through at least 3 of your channels' uploads for the last 2 weeks or so, and despite not even knowing of each others' existence, we seem to have come to nearly the same conclusions on everything. The more I research, though, the more I'm convinced we need a VERY hard turn when it comes to nearly every institution of finances or political power. Term limits should exist practically everywhere in government so we never have a Congress as insanely old and inept as the one we have had for decades now. Around half the population is under 45, but you'd think we were all 70-80+ if you looked at really any level of political power whether at state or federal level. Everything is lagging behind an ever-accelerating pace of technological advancement. The same geriatric generations responsible for keeping the status quo for decades are the same ones perpetuating constant press releases about how AI can only become Terminator's skynet and all act like that's just assuredly our fate if we even attempt to keep researching these cutting-edge fields. They are just the most recent wave of Ludites. They'd rather we never figure out the brain or nervous system through things like Neuralink. They'd rather women never have any agency over their biology through things like the artificial womb or even today's issues of abortion/birth control. The worst part is the people spouting this nonsense are all in powerful positions, yet have no knowledge on any of this much less how it works or was created. I don't want a civil war or anything close to it, but I see both political factions turtling up and doubling down on more and more extreme positions that are less and less based in reality and facts. I'm not sure of how to bridge this divide when neither side will even talk to the other anymore. I regularly sit friends, community (neighbors, etc), and family and try to get them to talk things through. However, to this day, every group I mentioned is segregated along political lines and really won't even be near each other unless its at one of my gatherings and I'm forcing them to. All that being said, I do not think we will repeat 1861-65. I think its more likely we have a secession of some states with a lot of big talk, but no actual large military exchanges happening.

Bud all the old people you hate were the leftist revolutionarys 50 to 60 years ago. All the new startups that are trying to replace the old elite are the leftist revolutionaries of today. Gay race communism is America's only end state, it seems. Perhaps China or Russia will fill the hole in America self emiliating in on itself from self-hatred and collective guilt.

08:50 The war debt thing is so messed up! (laughs) The big reason for the American Rev was British governmental interference in colonial economic matters and onerous taxes, etc. A big part of the reason the crown was trying to squeeze the colonies as hard as they were was because they'd incurred a lot of war debt defending colonies during the French and Indian War! Rinse, repeat....

Even a very lite assessment of the situation leads one to conclude that anothet civil war would be logistically impossible. However culturally it had seemed inevitable for years now. Certainly the cultures arent evenly split down the middle like last time. At best we are looking at maybe citiess versus countriside. In auch a situation one wonders how the city dwellers would get food. Also the countryside would seem to have rhe gun advantage. Still this is more likely to collapse the country then result in a true victory of some sort.

I really love your videos. Thank you so much for putting them out. But I think you are missing. At least two people who you should definitely be studying to give you a more well rounded view. Peter Zeihan the geopolitical stratist who called the ukraine war and intrest rates rising in 2022 back in 2015 and peter turkin, The man whose studies historical cycles and predicted the instability in the world around the year twenty twenty back in the year two thousand.

with all due respect@@RadicalAlignment, but i think that a track record of success predicting things on a specific timeframe 7 years out that went against common wisdom is solid proof to me that while his view point is not diversified he has a MUCH better track record at predicting issue accurately. than Ray Dalio. I want to make it clear i think he is incorrect on his assumption that ai will stop or slow down due to material issues. all that does is put pressure to make leaner more efferent models that run better on current hardware. Caveat aside i think dismissing him is akin to economists who dismissed Nassim Taleb in 2007 when he wrote in the black swan that systems that seemed strong were actually quite fragile. same applies here but on a planetary scale.

If his interest is truly in de-escalating tensions and avoiding conflict, then he should have taken a more neutral position. he shows a heavy bias that does not help the situation. He has not even bothered to even listen to all sides of the issue.

All big picture history is interesting. And mostly wrong. You covered large parts of space and history. Professional historians, experts on particular topics - times or areas spend entire careers on small bits of that. They could easily find issues with most of your theories. But interesting to hear your views, so thanks for that. Heck, historians are even not sure what exactly caused industrial revolution.

Ethnic differences are one of the main causes for civil war , forgot about Yugoslavia? Yemen ? Rwanda? It’s not as trivial as you make it. Read works by anthropologists Peter frost and dr. singer on racial diversity and social cohesion. The more homogeneous a society, the more cohesive it is. Also the further genetically apart to fighting groups are too each other , the more brutal it will be . This has been backed by a lot of research

Exponential. America seems to be in steep decline now. Asymmetric warfare based on sophisticated, mass produced electronics seems to be totally undermining "galaxy class" US aircraft carriers. Isn't industrial capacity key in military power as well? US "exported" it's industrial capacity to China; can it build it out quickly in these precarious times? Yes, ai, fusion, materials technology can change everything. Wouldn't the first to figure out fusion be all powerful ?
