Hey enjoyed the episode. So there are some observations n suggestions here it goes 1) Lady Adventurous should have had a captain where did it go? U could have saved on hiring a new captain. 2) 7 Provinces needs more engine it's speed is lesssss. Thrusters too of course. 3) Lady Adventurous is a good name hope you use it in future ship. 4) The live stream pls do it on KZbin so ppl like me not on other platforms dnt miss it. 5) Is it viable to make space ship designs on famous ships like Yamato or some destroyers n all? Be awesome I think. Again enjoyed the video looking forward to next one.

1. True. I should have used that captain instead. 2. It does indeed. 5. Sort of. Keep in mind that in space you're in a 3D battlespace. The Yamato was, vs other ships, in a 2D battlespace. That required a different placement of guns.

When hiring crew, you can keep the ship window open before pressing F. Like that you can see how many of what profession you need.

On the galaxy map, you can give a ship a chain order: mine -> jump to depot -> refine -> jump back and then loop that. Like that you don't have to do it manually every time.

Integrity Field Generators. Very fiddly. Their field will extend their protective value to 5x away from itself along each axis. So a 2x2x2 block will reach and to a 12x12x12 cube. but any block can extend past this point if it starts in the field and merely extends itself out. IFGs use an aweful lot of power, so it is best to just make tiny little IFGs and place them at various points...most useful with say a proportional 1x1x2 is placed to overlap 4 blocks.

I found that the fastest way to get reputation in the beginning is to buy a radar upgrade to find mass sectors (yellow blips on map) and go find & sell asteroids to that faction. Like that I can trade with them in 10 or so minutes. You also encounter loads of pirates that give loot, money and reputation too, if you stay in the faction's territory.

16:22 you can give an AI captain r-mining turrets and queue up looping orders to mine then refine then repeat. You can even make them mine in one sector and go refine in another by queuing up jumps in between.

According to the wiki, integrity field generators cover an area of their size on that axis (x/y/z) times 4.65. So it could be more efficient to make a square-ish one instead of long thin ones because they don't cover anything on their skinny axis.

I'm playing from the same seed as you so I am thankful for your discovery of Naonite - I was able to bring my little miner over and upgrade it, and I'm using the pair of unarmed turrets and cargo space on my corvette for R-mining. I think the command you are looking for is holding the Left Alt key to pan the camera to another point relative to the ship and keep it there. So setting the camera higher or to one side so less or more of the ship is in view.

I think there was a bug when you last redesigned the Venture, the symmetry tool seems to have put two engines at the same place instead of one. That's what caused the builder to tell you it'd cost 12.000 titanium to replace the block by a generator instead of 6.000 I think, that bug repeated there. Maybe worth checking if you indeed have a double engine at some point. Keep up the awesome content though!

I've noticed the same issue in my game. For example if I place an edge block similar to the Provinces with it going down the bottom of the ship (The Keel if you will), and I set it to 2 blocks wide instead of 1 while on symmetry mode, it will in fact let me place two overlapping 2-wide blocks and doubles the resource cost of the block. Kind of annoying because it adds an extra step to building the keel.

Usually it does not actually place two overlapping blocks (that's why the error keeps showing), but it does display the cost for placing both. Watch his resources amounts the next time it happens. I noticed once when he was trying to add more generators and thought he didn't have enough titanium because it was displaying the price for two, but it only charged him for one when he clicked.

the ships can automatically travel by wormholes and gates if they are in the sector, you dont need to manually 'ship' them

Hi stealth got a quick question: how do you switch sectors? I don’t have that option anywhere. And I did find out that you can loop an order sequence: mine>jump>refine>jump back and then loop it And just keep making the content you need to earn your living, at the moment that’s the most important part. I hope you and the missus are keeping safe during our “intelligent lockdown”

You can switch sectors if you have another craft in that sector. Looping a sequence does indeed work, up till the point where a sector has been stripped clean of all mineable asteroids.

I am absolutely loving this game. I am happy to report, my ships are no longer, " battle blocks". Thank you for these videos learning so much about the game. I found a research center, just have to learn how to use it. Cheers and stay safe..

Glad to hear that! For the research center: in the slots you can add up to 5 items (weapons or upgrades). Then the research station converts those things into an item 1 tier higher. At least 3 items are needed. 3 items give you 60% chance of a upgrade. 4 items give you 80% chance. The more similar the items, the better your chances of getting a good item of the same type back. Example: 5 mining lasers = very likely 1 mining laser of a better tier.

A small hint: With the button "swap controls" you can switch to mousemode, where you also can rotate the cam alone without turning the whole ship. Might come in handy when using more turrets. Keyboard then switches to w/s pitch and a/d yaw i believe. Both modes also have seperate tabs in the otions-menu. Edit: I'd suggest "Lady Vulture". :D

Nice serie of Avorion videos! Now with the Black Market DLC it can be interesting to make another with this DLC. There are quite some changes. The game is a bit more alive so to speak. Iron, ion, iuon, what diff does the pronounciation make as long as we understand it, right? We call it ijzer (i guess that is also your native language?) Anyway, by destroying Lade Adventurous you lost her crew of only 1 ... but it was a captain!

Why did you 'found a ship' rather than 'shipyard builds a ship', which can give you a captain? Yes it takes 5 minutes odd, but in my experience faction rating doesn't matter so much.

Advancement in unlocking types of tech is still a little confusing to me (like not having iron generators/damage distributors/etc, but I'll attibute that to being new to it.)

@@iseeu721 You don't unlock any tech in Avorion. You just need to get closer to the galactic center, where you find the more exotic materials. These in turn let you build the tech-blocks that you mentioned. You don't have ALL the blocks in one material however, i.e. there are no iron-generators, those start at titanium-level. Same with shield generators etc. You can find them all in the blockbrowser when in buildmode.
