What are the advantages of making your own turret? Can you select what weapon type and material they are made out of for more DPS/Range etc?

Really helpfull tutorial. I never thought i would bother with custom turrets but i'm now putting way more effort and detail into my ships than i used to so they have atarted to make some sense now!

Why are my turrets invisible when i exit the turret creator and non existant when i leave the building mode????

Its all well and good to build the turret, but how do I actually apply it to a useable gun turret? I built one, its a 2 size I think. I upscaled it some more, but how do I put it on my ship? I was trying to apply it to some of my 3 barrel heavy cannons. And so you have to build the turret directly on teh ship? I built the turret on another new ship and saved it........

You just need to apply it from your saved designs. Make sure you have the turret block down so you can add custom turrets.

THANK YOU for this video! I had downloaded some ships that included custom turrets but didn't understand how to design them, apply them or replace them until now. The existing turret tutorials were not very good. I appreciate your clear approach to things.

How does the custom turret size affect the weapon in the end? Can you equip smaller sized turrets in a large custom turret? Or does it have to be the exact same size?

If you have three barrels on a custom turret using a triple weapon, will all three projectiles come out of the three barrels at once?

They should. I know a single barrel will rotate between different points on a custom turret. Lasers and mining turrets will fire at the same time out of X amount of barrels you have.
