Because Alien/Aliens and the classic Predator movies where gritty action and horror movies. This, on the other hand, was a cartoonish looking fantasy and adventure movie with only a slight touch of actual horror. On top of that, everything looks flat and generic, that's why it is so hated. But i must admit, you have to give the filmakers credit for using ADI Studios practical effects.

Aliën 1 was ahead of it's time.. that's the reason we re still having movie's like this.. movie's like this..suck.. unless a great director manages to gives a tastefull thrill anyway.. this movie might be one the better ones in the endless string of sequals and what not.. .great artork, nice visuals. the action though is terrible.. the predator costume bounces like styrofoam.. yet nothing new for as far as i can tell from these short clips i consume from time to time.. the xenomorf is completely unfit for this type of american wrestling sort of action.. it has great features yet non of them come to life in a movie like this..

This movie got me into both franchises and out of all them including (prometheus, alien covenant) I think the original alien, avp, and predator 1 are the best. @@mohdfaizul481 Likely was an entire clan, working together to capture it, as you'd need to eliminate its hive first without injuring it, meaning the use of a "non-hunting" weapon, something not lethal capable of stunning a queen. Hunting a queen however, is something an elder would do for honor, infact to become an elder you need to have done it with at most the support of 2 others if i remember correctly. Oh and by non-hunting weapon, they have an arsenal full of toys that make their hunting weapons look like muskets (they have what is basically a plasma flame thrower rifle), they never use military grade weaponry as its not honorable. They compete for the right to hunt by seeing who is willing and able to preform the hunt with the weakest gear. This film does have issues tho in 1 regard for the Yautja lore, scar "bloods" himself with the dead facehugger, in reality a bloodied, elder or clan leader would preform that right, an unbloodied has no status within the clan yet and is still considered basically a child.

It's because of the actors. The original Predator actor was a very lean and tall man - Kevin Peter Hall who stood 7 foot 2. However, Kevin was long dead by the time this movie came out, hence they choose Ian Whyte, a guy who stood 7 foot 1, but was a bit more stouter than Kevin Peter Hall . Plus, the suit they made may have been bigger for better structural integrity and ventilation (The previous Predator suits had barely any room for the skin to breathe, requiring the actors to take frequent breaks), hence they look buff

Following the Yautja on their home planet and giving us a back story and following them as they hunt on other planets against other alien life forms and not just humans or Xenomorphs. Best bit would have to be no humans in it and no cheesy Hollywood BS just based on the Predators and done in a dark cool futuristic way. That would be awesome. After the last crap film and the way they turned into a cheese fest with the worst human characters and storyline ever I fear it'll never get done or the next Predator film will be just as bad if not worse. A film needs to be done by a true fan and with no humans in it. If they did that I could die a happy man.

It was likely the Clan Leaders as if a Yautja is able to wipe out an entire Xenomorph hive they rank up to a Clan Leader. Unless it is only when they've achieved the ranking by collecting three Xenomorph Queen heads am I completely wrong.

This is one of very few exceptions where the code is secondary. And no, not only clan leaders are capable of killing a queen. Some elite hunters and nobles can do so too.

Tbh in retrospect this movie was actually kind of alright. Like Predators, it feels like it was made by a fan of the original franchise. There are some lore inconsistencies that really bug me personally (the xenos go from facehugger to fully grown adult within less than an hour, the Yautja showing up to hunt in Antarctica despite them thriving and hunting in hot, humid environments, the Yautja growling like tigers for some ungodly reason, xenos being on earth before the events of Alien, thus derailing the dramatic stakes of that series) but it does have some genuinely good horror and action elements that Aliens, Predator, and AvP is known for.
