Tomas's approach is so interesting. He always takes his first step just ever so slightly AFTER setter contact instead of on setter contact whereas Mark always takes his first step on setter contact. I feel like the way Tomas does it allows him to never be early and more explosive to spike but harder to time

Great video. LOL Mark complaining about hands at 9:20. But what about the lifts at 0:45, 2:48, 3:00, 6:51, 7:41 (bonus thrown/pushed attack), and 10:26 ..... And then ref calls 11:17 a lift ?!??!?! WTF is going on here? Speed up those hands, especially at this level. Or at least call it consistently.

Lol, agree with you 100%. Ball stops in Mark's hands

None of those are lifts, definitely not the one the reff called either lol. I think only 30fps might make it seem like the ball is stopping but at closer look it doesn't seem so.

@@bighitsfootage I didn't see a problem either

5:17 he should keep his hand in the angle to get the block not bring them together field does the same thing that’s why they get past these amazingly timed blocks

I find it funny how this man Shane has absolutely zero backswing whatsoever. He is able to hit the ball hard still in the air because he's good at generating torque once he gets up there but it does make me wonder if the complete lack of backswing might be affecting his max jump height and reach on the ball
