Tim and Troy played tough! Always fun to watch them. Nitro is stacked they don't need the added benefit of a missed call giving them the second set.

I’m not sure your view from the toilet seat is better than the refs in the stadium, haha. John King is a phenomenal ref!

@@spencerwade8033 John King doesn't have the benefit of multiple angles and slow mo... If you watch the replay, you'll see that it was in fact an incorrect call, so in this case the view from the toilet seat is definitely better.

So you've got teams named after New York and Brooklyn but no tour stops in the Northeast...SMH

To be fair, it gets too cold and windy over here to have any matches in October and November. I'm in New York and I can't imagine trying to play in 35 degree weather with 16mph wind

@@TwistedTeaFate I said tour stops. I didn't say anything about the league schedule. I'm also from the area and it's not 35* until Christmas. I've played in Jones Beach, Long Beach, Central Park and now on the Jersey Shore. Weather is not an issue until mid-November anyway.

Curious… is there an official statement about what the future game plan is for the regular AVP summer stops? Is there a mission statement re: their goals for the 100-200 players that did not make the league? Is the goal of the post season league to try and grow more awareness and excitement and loyalty and enthusiasm from fans to show more support for the summer qualifier events to still have the opportunity to qualify into Main Draws for the Heritage events and the others? I’m starting to hear chatter that this league format is supposed to replace the regular summer AVP tour. Is that true? And if so, what does that mean for the rest of the players training to qualify into AVP tournaments? Is there any official statements re: the questions above? If the summer AVP tour stops disappear how do all the other players get a chance to qualify into the league? I hope the AVP intends to have both. Obviously I hope the league popularity grows amongst fans and more companies want to have their brands partner with AVP. I’m especially hoping this league will essentially help promote and grow the summer events and the summer tour stops in turn are the commercial for the post season league tour (this). Can anyone from AVP comment on this or direct us to information about this? or does anyone connected or in the know have any information on what the objective or mission statement is? Thanks 🏐💪

As a huge believer in what they are doing, I believe they're tryn' to see what comes out of this league this year. They will have regular AVP season, but the league will be like Championship or end of the season championship. Which means the regular season get shortened a bit. I don't blame them though, they need to find ways to make money, and pay the players.

@@jeanboriskonan3113 Is this a better format than what worked for the avp in its heyday? Tournaments back then were packed, but i guess everyone got greedy and killed it, but it attracted a lot more sponsors and fans back then. The team concept to me just doesnt fit a sport where a lot of the history was players switching partners during the season and the drama that ensued. Also i hate the sideout best of 3 games because its not as exciting as a one game decider. I dont understand why they are trying to change something that worked so good in the first place. The problem before wasnt the product, it was the behind the scenes greed.

@@nfmosphotos4624 You got some fair points, but if you listen to Travis from @SANDCASTPodcast, folks are just tryin’ new things.Things are worked well in the past, but in the last couple years, I think they struggled to find sponsors and tv rights, so they are trying new things. I personally don’t mind change as this change is not just for the sake of it, something good will come out of that.

Happy the AVP is trying new things, but the sad reality is this sport has a very, very small fanbase with no signs of growing.

It worked in the past because it brought in the casual fans with the party atmosphere and one game to win format. They are continuing to ruin it by overly complicating a very simple sport

@@wargowargo7702 I played doubles volleyball at a very high tourmament level for years, its not complicated like football or baseball or something like that. Its closer to tennis where its one side vs the other, grinding it out. As a spectator the appeal is highlighting the personalities and skillsets of each player and playing off that. In the past we knew Sinjin was a fiery defensive and shot making genius, Randy was a kong blocking force at the net, Karch was the GOAT olympian, Kent was the young protege, etc. etc. It makes no sense to ignore the individual personalities and try to create brand new city centered brands when the players arent even living in those cities.
