This was a great final with both teams playing really high-quality volleyball. During most of the match, it seemed like it could've gone either way. However, Jake Gibb and Taylor Crabb executed just a bit better than Billy Allen and Stafford Slick this time. Of course, congrats to Taylor Crabb on his first AVP win. Interestingly, the tables kind of turned here in Seattle. Allen/Slick played some inspired volleyball to win against Gibb/Crabb in the semifinals of the Seattle Open then went on to win the final against Crabb/Rosenthal yesterday.

I think Stafford Slick used to wear ski goggles, but now wears military protective goggles. Apparently, he suffered a pretty bad eye injury blocking, which required surgery.
