I was there....15 years working on the programme, culminating in heading up the procurement team for the entire aircraft ( both production and support) until the programme closed in 2002. Happy days...

The 146 was a beautiful aircraft, it was just so unusual

John E. Davies (JED to his colleagues and friends) was my boss in the Customer Training Centre at Woodford. We had also spent may overseas RJ and ATP flight test trials on the same team. Great bloke, great pilot, great character, wonderful sense of humour. Sadly lost his life at Dunsfold the year after this RJ display whilst flying a Hawker Hunter. R.I.P John.

NICE i lived in Higher Disley and could over look Woodford and had many aircraft low over head the 146 included . love the turbine whistle you caught it on the video . the best 146 or maybe rjx over flight was in near by new mills few years back massive moor fires raged on for wks. and 146 biased air quality aircraft did low fast pass of the town during sampling run the turbine whistle was outstanding lol

The aircraft in Air Malta colours is an RJ70 not a RJ85. I did a 6 week demo tour with this aircraft to the Far East and Middle East.
