This movie made me realize how invested I am in the Saw series. Like, for the longest time I took it for granted as just like a fun horror series with a fnaf-like story to piece together, but after this movie, and seeing all the returning characters and whatnot, idk, it gave me an oddly cozy feeling.

They literally made the main antagonist the protagonist in this movie and it was the smartest decision ever. The whole movie I'm like yea John get em!
@TheDemonCaine2 ай бұрын
The protagonist is merely the main character of a film/show that pushes the plot forward, so he was always the protagonist. Protagonists just typically happen to be heroic as that is who most movies follow.

Since this movie is before SawII, I like to think seeing Gabriella die and Carlos getting roped into this situation were the reasons why Amanda protected Daniel in SawII. After seeing one life no different than her own being snuffed out by Cecilia, and Carlos obviously having done nothing wrong, Amanda might’ve been trying to make right for being unable to save Gabriella…that being why she left Daniel somewhere “safe”, and aided him during 2’s game. And also why she gave a warning to Jeff’s daughter in that flashback in Saw6, to “don’t trust the one who saves you,” that being her warning about Hoffman staging her rescue at the beginning of SawV. She knew because of Hoffman blackmailing with an ultimatum that she might not make it out alive of 3, so she left a warning for the kid. In spite of how disturbed Amanda was to go through assisting Kramer with this stuff, there was that shed of humanity still in her to protect the kids who got involved. Of course, this movie’s plot can at best retcon those events since it’s a sequel-prequel to most of them, but you get what I mean. I think that’s the beauty of this movie. It’s not a triumphant end, it’s a melancholy, and somber feeling, because we know how John & Amanda’s stories end, both choking on their own blood in that cold basement…

I just honestly love how they were able to humanize John through his trials and traumas, someone who we've grown to known is an absolute villain. It's honestly wild. Because we always kind of teetered that line once they introduced Hoffman and Amanda, as John ended up becoming the lesser of three evils. But after this, you REALLY feel for John and kind of start to question your own morals and his decisions prior.

I had read somewhere part of the script was leaked after the movie premiered (could've been faked) where after Cecilia screams "John!" through the porthole, John whispers something in Carlos' ear and Carlos looks up at Cecilia and tells her, "Game over" in English, before all 3 of them leave. I had read it was removed because they didn't want to make it seem like Carlos enjoyed being part of the game.

1:10:25 - FUN BIOLOGY FACT TIME, YAY! :D Despite being connected to every nerve ending in the body and even having a section of itself specifically dedicated to alerting you to when said nerve endings are in pain, the brain in and of itself has NO capacity to feel pain! When you have a headache, what you're (usually) feeling is actually some of the nerves on the **outside** of your skull being inflamed for one reason or another (i.e. accidentally pinched nerve, eye strain due to outdated prescription lenses, super-stuffy nose, etc.). Heck, there's even a known subtype of headache can be caused by injury to one's SHOULDERS of all things! (idk what to tell you man, the human body is just weird sometimes!) This is why gently pressing down on the spot your headache feels like it's coming from actually works to provide some relief from the pain. The fact that the brain has no touch receptors of its own is why a lot of conditions involving the brain (from minor concussions all the way up to life-threatening tumors and aneurysms) are so hard to detect early on and in the case of concussions require the patient to be kept under observation for at least 24 hours just to make sure there's no risk of them simply dropping dead, and also why most brain surgeries really are done while the patient is at least partially awake (so the surgeons can more easily assess the patient's wellbeing) like the fake one we see here in Saw X as well as the "real" one Performed in Saw III. (Sorry for the impromptu lecture, I'm just a big nerd that likes to share potentially-helpful info!

I love that this film delved more into the dynamic between John and Amanda. And that we got a little sprinkle of Hoffman at the end. We didn't get much of the John-Amanda apprentice vibes because the plot twist happened at the end of 2 and Amanda dies at the end of 3. So it was definitely nice to see their relationship blossom into what we see when 3 rolls around. I have a feeling that the events of this movie probably solidified Amanda's idea that people can't be rehabilitated and put the idea of unwinnable traps in her head. Especially when Cecilia had that little boy dragged into this. She was absolutely vile. Scamming dying people out of their money and giving them false hope to cling to and then LYING about it is so wild. Glad she got played in the end

This was the second Saw film I’ve ever seen on theaters, the first one being Jigsaw (but that doesn’t really count), and I loved it. It’s my third favorite Saw sequel, after 3 and 6, and you can just tell that the writes, actors, director, and producers really cared about this film. I liked that we got to see more of John and kind of see what actually makes him tick instead of seeing him in flashbacks. Dude has been through alot. Lost his unborn son. Divorced Jill, the love of his life. Lost his nephew. Gets cancer all the while getting said cancer accidentally misdiagnosed and now gets scammed. This is also one of the rare times that I actually got emotional and cried during this film. Even the music reflected on how it made me feel while watching it. I loved that Charlie Clouser took time to create some really good somber and tender moments. Almost reminds me of Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon. I also liked the traps in this one too. Hard to say which ones were my favorites. It’s a tie between the eye trap, the wire trap and the brain surgery trap.

This was a great film. They announced that they will continue the franchise, hopefully with Tobin Bell and other familiar faces. Since Saw X was a such commercial and critical success (the first time for the entire franchise when they get universal praise), they cracked the formula of how to make these movies great. By the way, this film has cool little details that make it awesome. Cecilia is a great antagonist, you can see how she purposely sabotages her accomplices games (teaching Valentina the wrong way to use the Gigli Saw, telling Gabriela to go for her foot when going for her hand wich would release her earlier, etc). It shows how evil her character really is. Overall, it's a great movie, well written and acted. I can´t wait to see you reaction to Insidious!

Based on news from the producers... Saw XI is supposed to continue the timeline of Saw X by being located between Saw 1 and Saw 2... and hopefully maybe add something from the 6 months timeline between Saw 2 and Saw 3 (...note: Hopefully saw XII will continue the timeline from Saw VII), so it sure that in Saw XI we will see Cecilia dying in an extremely saaaatisfying way. I fully recommend to see the deleted scenes where Cecilia scaped the room, we see John facing Diego to get the details about cecilia, Amanda talking about her being abused by her father, and the most important is Cecilia confronting John to tell him how hypocritical he is, saying to him tat they are both the same since both are equally liars and murderers and that his method of "healing" with games is nothing more than a mask for being a serial killer. Cecilia manages to dig into John's mind by telling him nothing but the truth. The way she manages to be John's counterpart is something that we fans needed and loved, we looooove John, but no matter how much he tries to deny that she is a murderer, we know that she is. Saw X is amazing and is a great way to go back to the Saw universe we love... super excited about Saw XI in 2025. There a video here in youtube called "aw X (2023) | Behind the Scenes + Deleted Scenes", starting on the 1:53:16 minute you can see all deleted scenes. Fully recomended.

Thank you all guys for this awesome journey of yours and that I could partake on it. This is one of my favorite movie franchises and definitely the best horror one. My dad introduced me to it, we went to see Saw X after we waited for it and rewatched the entire series for X. Now I got your reactions to share with, you're all amazing! This was my first full franchise with your channel and I can't wait to watch more with you. P.S. Looking forward to Ready or not.

Most brain surgeries require the patient to be awake and alert, typically because they want to monitor the patient to ensure they're exhibiting normal brain activity, as well as making sure not to cut out anything important.

Before this movie, I never expected to cry during a Saw film. Saw X is the best for a reason. They make you so empathetic towards John Kramer that you can't help but root for him.

I saw someone recommend the faculty. I agree! Great movie. I feel like it’s underrated.

Personal opinion, I think everyone that died didn’t deserve to, or at least earned their life from their trap (except Parker, he didn’t suffer enough for me). Valentina and Mateo did their tasks entirely, top to bottom. Them being a few seconds off didn’t sit right with me. And Gabriella getting cheated made me SO MAAADDDDD.

I'm quite impressed how much you managed to avoid. You had no idea Amanda was in it, you didn't know the thing was a scam. That stuff was in pretty much the official synopsis.
