After the victory, Babur’s forces are believed to have carried out large-scale killings of captured soldiers and civilians. ### 2. **Religious Intolerance**: - While Babur is not considered to have been a deeply religious zealot compared to some later rulers, he did invoke **jihad** during some of his campaigns, especially against Hindu Rajput forces. This fostered a sense of religious conquest, leading to increased violence against non-Muslims in some battles. The idea of jihad against the Rajputs added a religious dimension to the conflicts. - Babur’s army is also accused of desecrating temples and religious sites during his campaigns, which further inflamed Hindu-Muslim tensions. ### 3. **Destruction and Pillaging**: - Like many invaders, Babur’s forces engaged in widespread pillaging and destruction of towns and villages during his campaigns. Cities that resisted his conquests were often looted, and civilians sometimes suffered as a result. - The construction of the **Babri Masjid** in Ayodhya during his reign, often attributed to his general **Mir Baqi**, is said to have involved the destruction of a temple, which is still a point of controversy. ### 4. **Harsh Punishments**: - Babur did not hesitate to impose extreme punishments to maintain control over his territories and to discipline his enemies. The beheading of prisoners, impalement, and other forms of cruelty were not uncommon, and he mentions some of these punishments in his autobiography, **Baburnama**. ### 5. **Conquest for Power**: - Babur’s primary motivation was to establish his own empire. In doing so, he showed little hesitation in using violent means to subjugate kingdoms and communities that resisted him. His focus on empire-building often came at the cost of local populations, who endured violence and upheaval during his campaigns. ### Conclusion: Babur’s dark side lies in the violence and cruelty that accompanied his military campaigns. While he is also remembered as a cultured ruler who appreciated art, literature, and nature, his rise to power was marked by significant bloodshed and brutality, particularly against those who resisted his conquests.

I am a proud Hindu, but for the life of me I dont understand this attitude to rubbish the Mughals after 500 years. If we were good enough we would not have been vanquished. The Mughals may have been outsiders but they subsequently adopted India as their homeland - we all have migrated from some part of the world, and this is a normal phenomenon. Secondly, please highlight the cruelties of all the Hindu, Buddhist, Jain & Sikh rulers, dont single out one religion on the people of our country. Only cowards do it and we Hindus are a rich civilization - we may have been invaded at one time but we are strong enough to retain our religion, our language and move ahead with the times. If there is any introspection to be done, then it is to understand why did certain Hindu rulers support the invaders to help outsiders invade their own country for parochial interest. To give you a parallel, the Indian cricket team does not behave like "cry baby" on why West Indies, Australia and England gave it a rough treatment from 1932 to the 1990s. Instead, Indian cricket has reached a stage where these countries have no options but to respect Indian cricket. Cricketers from around the globe want to play in the IPL. Thats how winning is done, not by whining about Babur and Akbar.

He is talking about Babri? The name was Baburi; and he misguided the audience. Babor wrote that he visited the Bazar with Baburi and they both went to borthel. Babri and Babor were not involved in homosexualities. Also, Muslims don't idealise Babor at all. And above all, the name he used Baburi/Babri, is not in Babor nama, it was written in the Book: Raiders from the North, the first chapter of the series The Empire of the Mughal. He didn't even mention that Babor originated from Far Ghana, present day Uzbekistan. I'm not sure how he claims that he is a sn expert because he has many flaws in his information about Babor

Sir have some sense. If babur had intentions to destroy all temples then how there are many oldest temples still safe in india. In Lucknow one hanumanjis temple was built by mughals. In Lahore also a famous temple Is there built by mughals. The name is some swarn but if iam wrong in spelling it please forgive me. Akbar made a temple in his house itself to his rajputh wife. Sir, many good hindu historians have told this. Sir, please don't lie and don't spread hateredness to spoil peace of india. Don't provoke people and fool people of india. Many hindus were in good position during mughal rule. Mughals fought with britishers. Many Muslims of india are freedom fighters and sacrificed their lives for sake of india. I have heard during British rule people of india were provided with good quality rice and good nutrition for childrens in goverment schools. Now you see the quality of rice how it is and how corrupts are goverment officials and how poverty is increasing.
