I think this was just an "experience" difference. I mean, compared to Awais... Awais prob. faces *GOOD* or *AMAZING* Akuma's often in his hometown. Meanwhile, just how many times have Super Akouma faced amazing akuma's? Still, I think Super Akouma had nerves going against his favor in these matches... not just vs Awais, but with other players.
