This song sounds melancholic, sad, proud, happy, concerned, but at ease all at the same time. I think that's how parents feel when their kids leave home, isn't it?

Mark of Two, I doubt you'll ever see this, but, to put it out in the aether, I wish that I could thank you for touching my life in such a momentous way. I would've contacted you in a more personal way on this matter but I didn't see an email, so here's what I have to say: Two days ago, my grandma passed away. Growing up, my grandma watched over me and my siblings often while my mom was at work. She made up a large part of my childhood and I remember fondly many things while I was at her home, most notably was the middle room with the N64 and gamecube where I would play games for a good amount of time. Wind Waker was one of those games that I remember back on, and while I don't remember Grandma's song from that time (I'm sure I've heard it then though) no other song has captured the love that I feel for my grandma in the same way. You've given me a beautiful song that goes beyond words that I will be playing at her funeral. And while she may not wholey know what it is and where it's from, the beauty of this song I feel is enough for her to know exactly what I'm saying and feeling. Thank you so much for this piece, and I hope you see this so you know how much your music has impacted someone.

I recently lost my grandmother. During the summer, while my parents were at work, they would drop me off at her place. One summer my friend lent me windwaker. I had never played a zelda game, but hey I had all the time in the world might as well try it out. I brought my gamecube to her house every day and would play cuddled up with my grandmother who would watch me play and comment on everything. She really only spoke spanish so she didn't really understand much, but we always thought it was funny to go visit "grandma" and I would tell her "that's you!". Now she's gone and I can't stop thinking about her, and this song will forever be etched into my heart. And I can't stop crying.

As I sat here working on my math into the night, so far from home, half way across the country from my family or anyone I knew for college. I chose this cover piece because I hadn't heard it yet and let it play in the background... After hearing the notes it became familiar to me... This song was played at my high school graduation ceremony. Suddenly I felt a wave of homesickness wash over me... My family awaits my return home. Our town may be small and boring but it is home...and I miss it.

When I got married in 2016, I was looking for nerdy/game related piano covers of my favorite games to play while everyone was being seated and during the ceremony. This song played while my bridal party walked down to the alter. It’s a beautiful piece. Thank you for this treasure, made my wedding even more special as I was able to put in a little of my nerdy side in the ceremony in an elegant way. Thank you for playing/creating this!

Yeah, it definitely doesn't have the same melancholic feel that the original was meant to portray (except at the very start of the piece). But, I also wasn't trying to convey the exact same emotions as the original. The purpose of this song is to explore what other emotions she could have been feeling during Link's adventure. If I had tried to portray the exact same emotions as the original, I don't think it would've been different enough to the original to be interesting.

Alright, this is the part where I admit that I didn't really have an emotion for every part. It was more general when I wrote it. ^^; But, you did get pretty much all the emotions I had in mind when I wrote it. I don't think she is ever happy during the song; hopeful maybe, but not happy. At times, she is angry at the situation. I think the fear that Link and Aryll may never return is the most important emotion and I think she tries to convince herself that everything will be alright.

30 seconds in and I’m crying... This is such a powerful piece. Wind Waker was my first Zelda. I only just beat it this summer, and... I love it. Easily my favorite in the series. Whenever I visited Grandma, I just wanted to tell her that it would be alright, that I would save Aryll, that I would bring peace to Hyrule, that I would reunite our family. I can’t quite describe in words how Wind Waker makes me feel. Despite only playing it within the past year or so, it makes me feel oddly nostalgic. It reminds me of a simpler time, when I didn’t have to worry about school, about whether or not I was a decent musician, student, son, brother, or friend. Back when I didn’t worry about this amazing, beautiful girl who exists in a completely separate world from mine. This song made me stand back for five minutes, to take a break from all the stress, to relax. To get some much-needed tears out of my system. Thank you, Mark of Two. You are an incredible musician and I respect you in the highest regard.

This past summer, I went through a heartbreaking romantic situation. One night, after the I had a tough conversation with the guy, we hung up on an incredibly sad and bitter note. The morning after, while I processed my feelings, I put on a playlist of emotional Zelda music. This particular cover played, and it was what got the tears rolling. I cried so hard, all alone in my apartment, lost and confused. Now it's one of my sad songs that I listen to whenever I find myself in "emo girl hours" as I call it, whether it be thinking of him or something else. I can't make it through the first minute without crying--which is a good thing, by the way. It's an incredibly cathartic piece, and it helps relieve me of my feels. Thank you, Mark of Two. You have a magical touch.

When I heard this in a music track it brought back the memories I had with my grandma. She passed in 2019, so not too long ago. You portrayed such beautiful emotion in this piece. Damn it. Wanted to play some Wind Waker HD, you know. Then I had to get the shield from my grandma. Damn it., failure T_T I don't even want to go on an adventure anymore. Just wanna stay with grandmaaaaaa. :'-( Seriously, though, this song is amazing. And your cover is as well. In my opinion it's even better, because it fluctuates between sad and joyful. Between hopeless and hopeful. At 2:30, I just want to get up and say "I'm gonna save her, grandma ! You don't worry, we will come back. Just make us some soup" ! And that feeling when you come back later, a fairy in the bottle for her. I know I sound cheesy, but it's truly one of the most memorable moment I've ever played in all videogames. Anyway, I have known and listened to this cover for a year, now, but I never took the time to say thank you. So thanks.

Incredibly pretty. I enjoyed it thoroughly. That being said, I personally think it feels too...full? It's grand. It's a very encompassing sound, and in doing that it really feels like it loses the melancholy that the original piece had and meant to convey. I think it needs to be a bit emptier, I suppose? That being said, this is a beautiful rendition, and still incredibly pretty. I enjoy it a lot regardless of my personal qualms.

I feel that thought she is happy he is off on an adventure, she worries that he will be in danger and may not ever end up returning. Due to this, its causing her to remember him and the times spent together, attempting to either reminisce, or maybe to encourage the face she believe he is safe and able to survive? I'm actually a little confused with the ending however. It sees to have resolved, but those this mean he returned, or she has accepted the fact he may never return? *My opinion anyway.*
