Soul reapers don't kill hollows out of hatred. They are the balancers of the worlds through the cycle of souls. In their view, all souls should pass between the world of the living and soul society to maintain order. Hollows are a disruptive force generally, but the Menos each represent thousands of souls trapped in a disfigured spiritual state. A Vasto Lorde arrancar might represent millions of souls trapped and unable to return to the cycle.

[Tidbits & Clarifications] - Without spoilers, I can say that in the initial anime/manga we don't get the FULL rundown of what occurred to Tosen, we are given the general idea, but it's not until later in additional content that the entire TRUTH about what happens to Tosen is revealed, we get a real understanding of why he's against the Soul Society and honestly it's pretty messed up. [It's another reminder that the Soul Society doesn't have the best record when it comes to morality or justice] - Aizen states that Shinji and his gang are "Mock Arrancar"/Failed Versions...In theory, Tousen's would be a completed version of hollowfication, you can tell because, unlike the others who just get a mask, Tousen gets a mask alongside bodily changes. - Aizen here once again express the Umbermensch philosophy, there is no purpose in believing or trusting in something or someone when he himself asserts what is to be... that is how a god should think. - Yes, Hollows are beings personified by the idea of being hollow, they are missing something and they eat to fill the hole, that void. Unfortunately once they evolve into a particular phase, they then MUST continually devour souls or they'll revert into a mindless menos. It would certainly be unfair to label them as actually or inherently evil.

Vasto Lordes are hollow who has a human like form and they are the most intelligent as they are powerful. Shunsui didn’t want to kill start to begin with but he had to because of his affiliation with Aizen. Aizen would’ve cut him down just he did Halibel, so Shunsui did him a favor by ending their fight with a killing blow. As for Kaname you’ll understand why Hates the soul reapers so much soon! But I don’t understand why Shuhei cared about Kaname so much. I get it you you’re philosophy from him but what else has done for you lately ? 🙃nonsensical lol

!! roman spoiler !! in the book we finaly got the answer why tousen join aizen : before he became a shinigami his best friend was married with a member of a noble family and got murdered by him, because the murderer was noble the 46 concil take no action against him . tousen confront him to get revenge and .guard beat him for threaten a noble aizen saw all of this and propose him a way to get his revenge that why he speak so often about justice

Spoiler: Tousen’s backstory is one that’s never fully established in the show, nor will it ever be. It doesn’t just end with the death of his friend. It also has to do with the 4 Great Noble Houses being above reproach. Since it has to do with their origin.

Tosen saying he's afraid to die as a shinigami when something better = evolution is available according to Aizen is like us saying to die as a human is something we dread when we can become gods or at least have immortal bodies like digital mind uploading or such. Practically becoming immortal and invulnerable, cheating death completely. Who wouldn't want that if available on the table?
