Very helpful. Since awakening from the belief in a "mythical me," emotions arise spontaneously and somatically...no more narrative-based emotions. However the physical sensations are intense and I am aware of being a witness to the heat that arises in the body. I will practice your suggestions. Thank you, Angelo.

Some decades ago, my dharma buddy and I began our process in earnest - it is clear like a gong note the day I realised and said, ''OMG, this is all emotional work!'', and I felt at that time unequal to the challenge. As an artist (from the get-go), all these fantastic emotions which I encountered and indulged I 'believed' as if they were true - vision squeezed through angst. In spite of the mountain of difficulties which seemed to face me, persistence kept the process alive. Years. Not one nano-second of this is imperfect, not one molecule is out of place...🦋

@@SimplyAlwaysAwake Early on in the friendship with this 'companion on the journey', we both realised that the treasure we shared is rare, and is a great boon, as you say. Dr. Gautama was also quoted in saying how valuable a dharma friend is. There is a quality of the tale of the Jataka twins in this story. Thank you for taking the time to write your kind response. Having sent some of your material to my buddy, we are sharing these moments of wisdom you present so clearly. Your work is so direct, so lean. Perfect distillations. 💫🌟

Just resting in it does the work. Perfect description. When overwhelmed by all the people in a mall one day, I froze ( my usual response) but the panic did not come. I was some how in space out of time? It's was like a big soft space holding me, sound stopped, and I watched all the people in slow motion. My fear of helplessness melted away. Luckily i was with my sister who got me out of they. I had a floaty disconnected feeling for about half an hour. Then I knew I choose how I respond always. I'm really enjoying your videos. Thank you.

After registering/not involving/passing through this waterfall of thoughts for several months I finally managed to sincerely look at emotions with "inner eye" let's say (no head involved), especially the physical aspect of emotions and walk these energetic sensations home with my attention and it always releases in laughter. Uncontrollable and hysterical. I know laughter is a classical sign and when I saw people laugh so stupidly at some sessions I always had a feeling that a lot of them fake it because they just want to wake up so bad. And I used to get so irritated. Ironically it got to me. I've been laughing for 3 months already this is ridiculous. The more serious and dramatic things are the harder I laugh 😛🤣. Which was a challenge in public places. It fades away now I sort of laughed myself out I guess and it changed to short experiences of just losing myself and becoming reality as is but every now and then I giggle in my fist at myself.

I keep experiencing these flash backs (blips) of past experiences throughout the day. Something in my current experience triggers them. Before this work and your pointings, I would have let mind take me down a rabbit hole drowning in these flashbacks and creating a story about them. I do from time to time experience a feeling of regret associated with this recall of an experience like, "I wish I had not done that." I am much more aware now, more conscious of when my thoughts " go there" and I can let them go instead of marinating in them. Now they last only femtoseconds because my consciousness sees and this awareness allows me to let go.

Years ago, I read "The Power of Now" and Tolle recommended an exercise of feeling the energy body, and keeping a small portion of your awareness on that energy field throughout the day to help maintain presence. I've practiced this. I mainly feel the energy in the chest area, but it sometimes feels like almost a radiance. The intensity waxes and wanes throughout the day. It's calmness. It's love and joy. Other people have also mentioned they notice it at times. I've practiced it so much, and can usually keep some awareness on it throughout most of my day. I've tried using inquiry on it to see if it's really me. I do have awareness of it, so I don't think it's really me, but it's so much closer than other emotions that come up in life. Is this something I'm attached to because it really does feel like love and joy? Is this something I need to release because I am attached to it? Thank you
@SimplyAlwaysAwake2 жыл бұрын
No need to worry about attachment to it or release. If you want to deepen the realization I recommend while having attention there doing some inquiry such as, "Can I find a boundary between this and the external of the body?" Then don't think about it or it will appear divided, rather follow the immediate experience with attention, in a sort of affectionate way between the awareness of external and the energy field you have clarified. Slowly back and forth. Then can do the same with consciousness (the space that feels like I), maybe around the head or at what feels like a center. Just slowly and keep attention dissolved into this, keeping some alertness to when it becomes a thought/conceptual :)

Angelo, there seems to be a filter of subjectivity that overlays the experience of sensations/emotions. This feels to be a barrier to experiencing sight, sounds, emotions etc directly. Is this sense of subjectivity also just a thought that will ultimately fall away with deeper realization? Any suggestions on how to probe deeper into the senses and go beyond the apparent filter of “me”?

I sense that this is where I need to be looking, no pun intended. The sense of being the view, does seem somehow reinforced by the taken for granted aspects of the body, specifically for me, the face, head, eyes, etc. In the cycling of the sense gates, specifically between nondual sound and bodily sensation, I notice that unexpected sounds are the most nondual, then I cycle to the sensation in the body, and the most direct, nondual feeling vision is that directness, non dwelling on a sensation. Maybe after half a second as the mind dwells in the sensation, a sense of an observer seems to emerge. Should i continue to open that gap between initial direct contact of sensation and the opening of the subject object division, and if so, what would you suggest i do, or don’t do for this to happen? Or is there nothing that can or should be done?
@SimplyAlwaysAwake3 жыл бұрын
No need to investigate a gap necessarily. IOn direct sensing there is only sensing! Investigate this immediacy :) At other times if it feels like being pulled back into awareness can then investigate whether there is a belief operating that is keeping the thoughts operating in a dualistic fashion.
