I met Rush in the year 2001 ish I think, at a techno party in Kortrijk, Belgium. Took some pics backstage, cracked a couple of beers with him and he gave me an autograph on the back of a picture I took with him a couple of weeks earlier on a techno party in the Silo Leuven, Belgium. To this day, that pic has been sitting in my living room as a throwback to remember how good those days were. I'm almost 42 now, and still love this guy! He's just the sweetest guy really, really took some time to meet up with his fans back in the days. Great guy overall!

Back in the day when he played 150bpm high energy techno, there used to be a ring of people sat all the way around the edge of the dancefloor because he was too hard. DJ Rush and Dax J overshadowed absolutely everyone who played at Awakenings, except Perc really. The massive energy in all 3 of their sets was absolutely mindblowing! 🖤🖤🖤 And massive kudos to him for still sticking with those Beats headphones after all this time. He's used Technics, Pioneer and even Sony headphones over the years, but these seem to be his favourite. I mean his set just cannot be the standard Beats by Dr Dre that anyone can buy - these must have been specially modified just for him? Right? Surely?
