Why You MUST Read Fiction & My most favorite fiction books of all time | Book Recommendations

Avani Didi, I prefer fiction over nonfiction. Fiction simply transports me to worlds and realms, being pathways to see myself through. I love writing fiction in the form of short stories and novels, particularly historical fiction, and literary fiction with both realism and magic. The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank is a true story, but it is a memoir in the form of a diary and the piece of literary nonfiction reads like fiction. This summer, I wrote a few short stories, The Graveyard’s Wish, The River’s Path, The Path Departing from Whispering Fields, Aunt Bessie Portals Out of Her Garden, and The Leafhood Waits as well as a few flash fiction pieces, A Shriek in the Horse Field, Aloft the Waters, and Sweet Winds on the Orchid Path. I plan on submitting a few of these short stories and a poetry collection to the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards this year. This summer, I threw myself to pages of stories by reading and writing.
