A story of a machine, a soldier, a monster, and a caretaker. Fallen in battle, risen by a kind hand. Changed his ways, aided the one it called "Friend". Forced to fight, one so similar. Little one hurt, rage filled it's systems. Unhinged, enraged, all focused onto one monster, who some would say is it's sibling. Bullets spray, sword stabbing through metal. One bullet finds it's mark in flesh, a lightning bolt finds another in metal. There the beast lays, there the soldier stands. His friend dead among the ground. Bury his friend, the soldier does with the most care a machine can give. Then goes to work... A mission to complete. Years passed... Eons maybe, Soldier 626 having worked hard, having done all it can. To see it's friend's work full filled. With only seconds to see the new humans, it brings it's fist to it's chest, and with a metal thud, does one last salute for it's long lost friend, it's mission finished, it's objective complete. As the power runs out in it's rusty old core, it stares at the one who looked so early similar to it's long dead friend... Before deactivating, maybe these humans will bring him back... Maybe he'll be melted down for scrape... Perhaps he'll become a relic of honor, from a long dead age. 626 will never know, but he knows one thing. He had loved the life he had with the little one. And would happily do it again.
