Hi , yet again so laid back and out for the day enjoying the trip , taking us along . Freddie in his gear and one smile or wave from Monika , were like lemmings , do not get to close to any cliffs , as were all going over ,as in Quadrophenia , expecting her smile when the ground looms up . Magic presentation and video work , thank you . Should any one like laid back rides , have a look at Saddle bags 73 on the tube and between both as Richard said , there will always be an England , just make time for it , even when the sun does not shine as long as you enjoy your bike .

I believe Henry Cole once commented that the best bike to ride is the one you are on, very true as it doesn’t matter as long as you have a smile on. Ipswich council have absolutely ruined the town, the centre is like an old ghetto don’t bother to visit as there are many more towns that show the best of Suffolk. The road from Ipswich to The Hospital school super ride, but then any B roads in Suffolk are a joy to ride. Great video by Monika, you two are the dream team, nice to see her back on the pillion.

Hello Freddy, In the early 1980's I owned and rode Meriden built Triumph's, a TR7RV 'Tiger' 750, a T140E 'Bonneville' 750, a T160V 'Trident' with Norman Hyde 850 big bore kit and a TSX 750. But the machine that I owned which gave me the most thrilling rides was a 1980 Laverda 1200 'Mirage', it was a beast to ride, very tall and top heavy, it had heavy clutch and throttle action which regularly snapped cables. It only gave 27 to 30 mpg, but I forgave it for it's negative points because of it's acceleration, wild handling and the 180 degree cranks bellow from the straight through 'Jota' pipes gave me such a thrill, it was orgasmic.
@FreddieDobbs3 жыл бұрын
Hi David, That's a fine selection of bikes! I've never seen a Laverda 1200 in my life- it sounds brilliant and extremely scary!🤣🤣
@davidmacgregor51933 жыл бұрын
@@FreddieDobbs Hello again Freddie, thank you for your reply. Laverda were a small family owned concern in the Italian Dolomite mountains, their main line of business was manufacturing combine harvesters, their motorcycle production was essentially a side line. The farming equipment division was run by Piero Laverda and the motorcycle division was run by his brother Massimo. In the mid 1970's Laverda's UK importers Slater Brothers Ltd took a stock 981cc Laverda 3C model, they added high lift cams, high compression pistons and an unrestricted exhaust system, the end result was the legendary Laverda 1000 'Jota', a rip snorting beast of a bike capable producing 90 hp @ 7500 rpm with a top speed of 146 mph in standard trim. The 'Jota' was the fastest production motorcycle that you could buy in 1976. The 1200 version had softer profile cams and was sold as Laverda's touring model, it was marketed in the USA as the 'Jota America'. Laverda's were never built in huge numbers and their new price was always high to reflect their exclusivity. Today Laverda Jota's are fetching between £15k and £20k.

Security....I have a big chain like yours. I used to use a good padlock on front disc but forget if its there too often. Best security is live in the country. I do but we do get raided by roaming thieves from time to time who take advantage of the quiet laybackbregion. Security cams are cheap . My bikes are kept in a locked garage with frame lock. With big dog who sleeps outside. I used to roam the lanes of Shropshire and Wales, for work and as a kid sometimes on my sisters pushbike. My bike security consists of me forgetting the key in the ignition for a week, parked outside by a public road, and it still being there when I return. :P I use no locks when out and about, might use the steering lock in some areas, but that's it. Got a ground anchor and a chain at home, but most people think I am paranoid and use nothing like that themselves. Not a lot of bike theft around here in other words.
