The media nicknamed the term an A23 derby even though Brighton does connect with Croydon ( where Crystal Palace's ground is located ) I don't think you could actually call it a derby, I think it's more of a rivalry than anything else.

Bit of a weird one but Palace is still the closest team to Brighton 30mins direct on the train, there is a lot of history there but mainly in the last few decades the palace fans just enjoyed a jolly down on the seafront few beers and in the 90s a lot of fights

Next time you go to a game at Brighton I recommend going into the small town of Lewes before the match for food, it’s one stop away from Falmer and it takes about an extra 5 or so minutes to get there but there’s some cracking food there or you could wait in Brighton for a bit for a drink or food. Also you didn’t get the best pie ngl you should’ve got the chicken gammon and leek one
