AWD Honda 8000RPM Anti-Lag Launch! It's Crazy Fast (We EXPLODED the Transfer Case) - Ep.11

We're back with our AWD Acura RSX, last time out we exploded some parts the first time launching the car. on this episode we breakdown exactly what broke, fixed it, and get back out for some badass launches! We installed a PPG Hypoid gear from Marc P at GP1 Racing and had it rebuilt by Aaron Lopez from The Few H22 Crew. We also added a Magnus Pro Clutch Slipper Valve so we can dial in the PERFECT launch!

Only to the slipper clutch valve and already like the video. Unsprung clutches help in high rpm shifts to preserve pinions and forks but If you twist driveshafts grenade lockers/lsd snap axles rings and pinions. Javier and TRC have evolved, enjoyed the tech as much as the featured rides. Great job meng!

i know all the honda stuff is cool, don't get me wrong, but it would have been a thousand times cooler if you guys sent it and went on the still totally untested haldex swap route. awd, 50/50 launches electronically adjustable, dq500 gearbox. keeping in mind that the weak point of the dsg box is the torque, it would've been the best match possibile with those little motors that don't make that much torque at all. this car would've been way cooler and would've opened an whole new chapter in the drag/street racing world.

I been building an EM2 '05 for the last 3 years. Watching this build has helped me out quite a bit in terms of who supplies what. I'm not going for crazy power though... building more in the spirit of WRC, not any more than 550hp. I figure more dirt use will be better on drivetrain too! Suspension for extra travel has been the biggest hurdle with the McPherson style front suspension.

@@ThatRacingChannel It's looks terrible right now. Clear coat is all but peeled from front to rear quarter. Interior is clean, but most of it not inside yet. Pretty much it's a save money/parts til I get to next component stage. Engine is built, basic, but built K20A2. Hasport mounts. Tanabe exhaust. Suspension is a combination of CR-V and RSX parts, whiteline and energy bushings all around, ktuned adj suspension components, 5 lug conversion 4 wheel disc, and electric steering rack upgrade with full delrin bushing and billet neck specially made for a lift. Saving for turbo / fuel management + nicer driveline pieces for durability and custom coilovers(they'll rolly just be CR-V coilevers basically) Hardest part so far was putting fuel cell in a place that didn't look bad. Came up with same placement as your basically, and retain filler neck/cap.

@@guerrillamane9573 Well, it's an EM2 05 civic, but basically the same chassis. 3 reasons: 1) Cheap (7th gen got no love from aftermarket with mcpherson suspension and no K in coupe/sedan) 2) I love the feel of the car, the cabin space, driver position, overall size 3) I'm familiar with it. It's a very basic design. Honda go together like legos with enough looking around.

Excuse my ignorance, but I see only one output from the rear hypoid gearbox. How do you get drive to both rear wheels? Is it rather like the output to the front wheels, after the gearbox? Are both front and rear axles limited slip (probably Torsen)?

The T case attaches to the trans and is driven by the differential in the trans. Then the flange from t case attaches to driveshaft that connects to viscous coupler. Viscous coupler then attaches to rear end via driveshaft.

Josh yes, I think so and I agree with MF. But if he upgrades the clutch to a twin disc or something with more grab im sure it will leave harder and be more consistent with the launches. But yeah its burning that clutch and still hazing the tires so its pretty much at its limit.

He has a ceramic twin disk, which will go quicker with slipper. But slipper makes it more consistent and a clutch is cheaper than other drivetrain parts

Probably $20k-$35K. He's using a stock K20 so that's why I reckon it's on the lower side of $20k but he's also running a 4wd conversion and built drivetrain which is why I think it's up around $35K.

I have a 09' Forester X on full aftermarket suspension. About to swap in 11' STI trans, R180 rear diff, axles and brakes. Seriously considering doing a Kswap. People get mad when you put different engines in different cars but dollar for dollar a stock K engine will make more horsepower than a EJ.
