Yeah in Orlando dsm's are a dime a dozen. You can find them anywhere for cheap 1,500-2,500 .......you can get a rebuilt title wrx for 5,000....

Turbeh1 mid 12's is a lot different than low 9's bud his turbo is worth more that your car lol and sounds like you had gotten a deal most would pay more for what you got. Dsms are only cheap to go 11's then its big money 10k at least needed to get that fast. .

Had to be a peaky hp curve. Maybe made 100 more hp for only a few hundred rpm or something. It's how you make power that matters.

I know his launch was very delayed, but what I was getting at was how with a 100-150hp advantage It seemed he couldn't pull on them. It's true that could be his peak power for only a couple rpm's. I guess there are too many variables to decide.

The DSM let off because that auto will only go so far........any farther of a race and the STi would've cruised past the DSM at high speeds. You can have the auto advantage through the first 3-4 gears but high speed, the auto gets crushed.

The torque converter absorbs most of the shock, stock auto DSM trans in the 9's for a few guys. Proven to do high 10's very reliably though. For manuals you just need to preload the drivetrain and don't be an asshat with the clutch that's slower anyways.

the issue with these cars is they are not made for durability. Really built for screwing around. Break all the time with stock this and that. Most of them sit next to the garage after they break, until Mom says: GET THAT F....ING PIECE OF CRAP OUT OF MY YARD!!!
