@@AweofTech can you help me? I have a Dell G3 3590 with a very similar configuration (it`s nearly the same except it has 24Gb RAM and 525Gb SSD). You`ve mentioned in the video that it is tend to be warm during running games. Could you recommend any kind of cooler pad which is worth to use it with? Secondly, for my previous laptop (Lenovo Ideapad Y510p) I have a vacuum cooler alongside with. One of my colleagues (whom I do not really respect as a computer pro) said it can ruin my notebook`s inside cooler fans. It has a potmeter where you can adjust the power of the vacuum cooler`s fans, but there`s no way to measure the speed of it of course, moreover, there`s no way to determine the speed of the coolers inside the notebook. Therefore he said that if the vacuum cooler`s fans are faster than the coolers inside the notebook, it can ruin the thole of the coolers inside the laptop. What do you say, is it true or it is just a fantasy of his simple mind? And what do you think, is it worth to keep this vacuum cooler alongside with Dell G3? Because in case of the Ideapad Y510p there were blow-holes on the side of the notebook where you can easily fit the vacuum cooler, but in case of Dell G3 it`s not so simple because as far as I see it has a blow-hole right below the hinge and in my view it couldn`t be simple to fit the vacuum cooler there because of the hinge itself....or what is your recommendation at all, what is the best cooler to use alongside with Dell G3 3590? Thank you for your help in advance and I`m looking forward to your answer.

Be warned, if you travel a lot, then be careful about the hinges on the computer, over time they will get week (about a year) and start to pop out of the back. @@c_02_abhijith_iyer_r23 I've actually upgraded to the G17 after 3 months of the G3. Yes it got hot but the G17 is no different. Gaming laptops are inevitably going to be hot, but no issues with gameplay so far.

Helios 300 is better choice if it's the same price range as this, so $1200. Sadly in Europe the prices are way higher, the Helios 300 is sold at around 1599 Euros, compared to this 1299 Euro (with current discount of 100 Euro, it's 1199. There is a variant with 100 less, but has 8GB RAM less and with 2x4 combination instead of 2x8)

Spiros League of Legends is a CPU demanding game, but you will still get around 120+ FPS since it’s a pretty low demanding game that doesn’t need the best CPU or GPU

I bought this from dell Malaysia. Pretty satisfied. Before I purchased one guy said this is not a good laptop. But I already paid when I heard that. I was so frustrated. But I have it with me now so far okay. In terms of fan sound it is quite loud. i do not like that. In terms of heat . Keys getting a bit of a heat. Pretty much noticeable, but is not a big deal. Battery life is incredibly low . i have to admit that. I m not a gamer . I m a software developer I use some IDEs and battery is not as expected. Always need charger with me. Over-roll display colors are good. Performance I found no issue so far. No lagging . I have core i7 9th den . 16 Gb ( 2 DIM) 256 SSD 1TB Sata model. Ram upgrade is an issue. because it utilize two slots.I hate that. But nothing to do. i m not doing it recently, no money. 16 Gb is enough. Hard disk upgrade also quite expensive. If you guys need any more real like thoughts just contact me.

Just do what other comments says, is an unlocked processor of what a I hear so diminish the top power of the processor to 4.0. GHZ to 3.4 o r 3.1. The games you play would never use so much frequency in medium settings, so don´t worry about to lose part of the top speed.

Screen isn't the best in terms of brightness and colour gamut. But it's cheap, fast, and upgradeable... whether it's suitable depends on what sort of design work you're doing.

I'm curious to see this config because on the Dell US site there are only 2 with IPS screens: one for 999$ US$ but with a GTX 1650 and the top one for 1349 US$ with IPS and 144 Hz screen with a 1660ti MaxQ. Can't find your's, seems like the perfect sweet spot.

I've got bug with my alienware command control center where the I cannot access the thermal and oc options. Dell support isnt helpful at all.. did you encounter similar problems? Maybe the new windows 10 update causing problems? Great vid.. pnly thing I have noticed that the edges are kinda sharp :/

Yo I had the same problem. There are ways to fix that but I honestly would just uninstall Alienware Command Center. The Dell power manager works just fine. I found that AWCC actually will mess up your power settings and that at least for the g3 the custom fan settings dont work.

User here. After 8 months: Noisy event when it's idle, very hot while gaming, a huge display bleeding. Motherboard died after 5 months and service replaced a new one. A little bit dissapointed with this laptop. IMAO it's better to buy a laptop with weaker processor or GPU, but with better cooling system.

@@owo7094 I helped my console pleb cousin pick between the Helios 300 2019 or this laptop. He picked this laptop despite me telling him it has ehhhhhhhhhhh thermals unlike the new Helios. I'll let you know tomorrow since that's when he will have it and chances are I will need to undervolt it.

I bought it after checking this video out and many others here's my review. It is very fast for browsing, ms office work, editing etc. The fingerprint it's amazing if you get that model. You can run multiple apps at once, but the fans will turn on and it might get loud. But not unbearable. Imagine having the AC on. The top case feels durable. But the back where the screen is attached is very flimsy. The keys and the mouse pad(idk the actual name) are great. The LEDs also help. The overall design is beautiful in person. Yeah it is a great laptop. But... If you want to game on it, I wouldn't recommend. I don't use it for gaming. I played CS and the fans had to be put on max. This gets very loud. It also get really hot. It feels like it will break if you game for too long. If you want a reliable laptop this is great but I'm sure there's better laptops out there that keep the laptop cooled better.

@@victorm5071 yes sir! Laptop is a beast but has this thermal/noise problems. This is budget gaming laptop and it would be stupid of me to be completely dissatisfied with the product. A few tips for you. I have bought the cooling pad and it really helps. It reduces laptop temperature by cca 20 percent. Also, I did newest updates in Dell center app, and one of the updates is ''thermal driver update for fan'' (something like that). It works!!! My laptop isn't loud anymore while its's idle. You can also pull out the battery jack when not gaming. It helps and laptop becomes silent. If you need any help, just let me know. Cheers

The hinge is ok. Not something special. It gets the job done. I think if you are a liitle bit careful with the opening and closing of the lid, you are not going to face any issues.

For the money, I dont think this laptop is a bad deal. It's true I would rather stick to the 5000 or XPS series for its better build quality... but the cooling system is so much better. As a fan of Dell in general I do find that this is a huge step forward verses what I have on my Precision 5540, basically a speed bumped XPS. Some might say the XPS line isnt for high end gaming, but that's not an excuse to cheapen out on the cooling system. Easily my device costs twice as much as the g3 and yet the cooling system is more effective than the XPSs. I know, we've tested it and I've even repasted my cpu and GPU along with the voltage regulators. That helped, but not enough to overcome the benchmarks on a much lower specd G3

These machines have a built in and more powerfull version of last gtx1050, the new gtx1650 and 1660Ti, so yep Auto Cad and sketch will run very good.

I just got the G3 3590 i7 9th gen version, very powerful but very noisy! Had to undervolt the processor just to keep it below 60 in Idle AND TO TURN THE Intel Boost off (essentially lowering the Processor's frequency from 3.8-4Ghz to a constant 2.6 Ghz. With the boost on... the temperatures skyrocket to 90+. I've read that it can easily witstand 100 but I'd rather not take My chances. I even replaced the thermal paste 2 days after i bought it but it didn't make much of a difference. Over-all, with the undervolt it becomes usable but it just feels disappointing for a laptop that costs WAY OVER 1K Euros and especially coming from Dell..where you'd expect premium products without such obvious thermal flaws.

The great thing is its IPS panel means it's great for productivity apps since you can work comfortably from any angle with good brightness, unlike TFT panels, but this panel may not be highly color accurate for creative apps, like a photo or video editing (up to you)... as for business (it may not look as sleek/professional) with its blue accents and shape, depending on how tolerant your work and meetings are!

I have the OG Dell g3 with i7-8750h and 1060 which ran hot initially but after a repaste with thermalnaught grizzly it runs cool, CPU never passes 85 and GPU never rises above 90 usually hovering at 80-85. This is without undervolting although I did turn off hyperthreading since it's a 6 core processor and not really necessary.

I think because it's trying to keep up with the graphics card. So trying harder = more heat which means fans running faster.

Don't open the laptop from the edges it's stresses the hinge for laptops that have the hinge in the middle.

I own the i5 and 1660 config and it struggles with gta v and borderlands 3. I cant say that i recommend this pc good for the price i guess. Can run doom eternal though which is good.
