If you want the bucket to not allow them to jump out but not kill them, just put half an inch of water at the bottom and the resistance makes it harder for them to jump, but they won't drown

Try 3/8" of peanut oil. They get too slippery to jump. They'll be jumping in from the edge.

I used an old bit of PVC pipe on a jerry-rigged hinge made of primarily duct tape. Took five minutes and cost me nothing, worked like a charm. Completely cleared out a mouse infestation I had in one of my rental houses I had in college without hurting any mice and relocated em all to a park 10 miles away in about a week or two total.

I have an original wooden walk the plank that you recommended years ago, just the best trap I've ever used. I lost two Victor power kill traps this month to not killing the mouse, but catching skin or a leg and the mouse drags the trap away. So frustrating and expensive!

Only took you a month to finally do a mouse trap video for Mousetrap Monday. But $40 for a 3D printed walk the plank trap seems kind of expensive. I was interested in it until I saw the price.

You should check out and do a review of Tomcat Mouse & Rat Attractant. They claim it's better than cheese or peanut butter, and in my limited experience, it *SEEMS* to be better. I have a vacuum trap set up and it had been set up for a week or so with peanut butter and chocolate in the bait chamber, I then added more fresh peanut butter, and the mice were just running past it, totally ignoring it. The night I put the Tomcat attractant in it, I got one, and the following night I got five.

For the cottage where we can't check for mouse traps daily, I'd like a combination of the plank or other style of bucket trap that sits on top of the toilet combined with an automatic flusher to flush the toilet after each catch. That would avoid the dead mice smell.
@FanOblues51

@@FanOblues51 wouldn't they drown in the septic tank like they drown in the bucket if there's water in it?
@FanOblues51
@FanOblues51 Жыл бұрын
Yes, the mouse would drown, but would it sink to the bottom of the septic tank and not cause a clog? Also, if it's winter, our cottage plumbing is completely drained, so no flushing, and winter is when the mice come in the most.
