The very fact that in today's world, my 'world' can reach yours, it makes me happy. edit: I guess from this video Assam comes off as a naturally beautiful but rather hidden from the world kind of way, but not really. What they basically showcased is the clothes, the one worn by Priyanka Chopra is a pair of Mekhla-sador. This pair is made of Muga silk. They showed 'Bihu', it is our traditional dance, the longest bridge in the country at the moment and a bit of food and generic landscape. But we are very much aware and a part of "this" world, with our cities and towns. If you ever come here, hope you enjoy the stay.

Dude, thank you for showing & sharing the video to the world. I'm born in Assam. A Local guy. The video depicts about the Culture & Tradition of Assam. You can refer the ppl as assamese. You have seen a part of it. Assam is surrounded by 7 sister states. Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim including Assam. Meghalaya is also called the scotland of the east. Achara kirk was correct about the tea production and climate. And assam is not a rain forest. It may be once a decade ago but not anymore. Because of increasing in global warming you know. Asaamese ppl has a rich culture. A big thanks to Priyanka chopra for being the ambassador of North East Tourism. In the video you see tea gardens, temples and villages. And the women's who were dancing is a festival of each states. Assam's popular festival is called Bihu. Bihu are of 3 types. And the men with white hat who were dancing were from a very sacred temple of Assam known as the 'Satra'. Satra is not everywhere is assam. Normally ppl goes to temple known as Namghar. Google it rest. Assam is not like what you think it is. It has bigger city's as well. Developed long before than what u think it is. Not a forest state. Thank you.

Assam is known as the Corridor to NorthEast. Guwahati is the largest city of N.E India. It is the home to one-horned rhino, tea estates, muga and eri silk( the one of its kind found in the entire world). It has Majuli( the largest Island in Asia), it has Bogibeel and Sadia bridge (one of the longest bridges in Asia). It has many more things to offer. Its really Awesome Assam.

I am from Assam, and it is basically the gateway to the north-eastern part of India. You guys should definitely do a tour of the entire North-east. Beautiful lush landscapes, moderate climate, lots of wildlife, traditional heritage and culture, simplicity of people, and yeah, amazing amazing food. You definitely will find major cities in every state, but if you really go to particular areas you definitely will find the real beauty, untouched by modern civilization. Where stories and emotions still thrive in the face of rapid commercialization. Highly recommend!

I'm from Assam, a paradise on the earth. It's not like that you will find only remote areas quite far from the modern world. It's getting modernized every day but maintaining a balance with its natural beauty and it's own unique culture. Our traditions and cultures are really amazing and hospitality is our one of the prime traditions. Please do visit Assam and explore it's every nook and corner. Thanks for your nice review.
@MrinmoyRoy19906 жыл бұрын
There are moderately big cities is Assam of course. But the cities don't have anything special to offer what you can't find in other Indian cities. What we do have to offer is the natural beauties. And the best part is that it doesn't take much long to go from the noisy streets to the calm serene woods and river banks, where you can just chill and smoke some weed perhaps! ;)

R H you are talking about alpha city(mumbai ,la ,new yorks) and guwahati is definitely a big city its population exceeds over 13lakh and also features the basic ammenties infact it Guwahati possess more than 1400 fashion brands( guwhati central [zoo road] alone has around 500) infact its also known as the 2nd fashion capital of india. Guwahati also have the best sporting arenas in comparison to any tier 2 city. What you're comparing is pretty absurd

I'm from Assam and it has got much more to offer than it's shown. There are cities and there are areas which's been touched by modernity. The areas shown here is the rural and the original beauty of Assam that's untouched by traffic and modernity and hence not ruined and modified and is still in it's pristine form. I love Assam and Priyanka just said it right once you visit Assam , it stays with you forever. No wonder why I hate being in Delhi and want to come back home again and again!

Ayan Maity sorry dear friend assam's culture didnot influenced Thailand, its the Thailand's culture that influenced assam. The great Ahoms who ruled Assam for 600 yrs, came from Thailand.

Yes it is true. It is because of the Ahoms rulers that we have modified our cultures.

Thailand culture is Indian culture. No other country gave more influence to Thailand then from India. Thailand religion Buddhism is Indian religion. Thai script is Indian script derived from Brahmi script. Thailand wear similar clothes to India, Sari, etc which came from India, Thai language has lots of loan words from Sanskrit and Pali, Indian languages. Ramayana is popular epic in Thailand. Thailand was ruled by Hindu and Buddhist kings from beginning of history.

wonderfullife india is not only country to speak sanskrit..and wearing sari bla bla bla... Nepal is more cultural country then india... its pretty much same aswell.... assam was part of nepal befoee
@cagaeynarcs34366 жыл бұрын
wonderfullife. Buddhism actually started from Nepal and in Nepal Buddhism and Hinduism is kind of a same religion since Buddha was Hindu. Thailand is a country of Buddhist and it seems pretty clear that the culture of Thailand is more similar to Nepal,Tibet, Bhutan, and northeast part of India rather than the main land India meaning places like Mumbai and Delhi and other those kind of place.

Assam was never a part of nepal and neither of india before Yandaboo treaty in 1826. It was a independent state ruled by Raja`s of regional tribes

Mushtaq Hussain Bordoloi actually might be right Thapa. You might be confusing Sikkim with Assam because part Sikkim used to be Nepal and so was uttarakhand and himachal pradesh but Assam I don’t think so.

The Ahom dynasty, which was the longest ruling dynasty of assam, undefeated by the mughals, their ancestors were from Thailand.... I am from Guwahati, Assam and yes, most areas are still covered with lush green forest. Since, agriculture, fishery and tea plantation are widely practiced, most places look like this. The major city is Guwahati but, not as big as Delhi or Mumbai. People who want to be away from the urban jungle would definitely love Assam or any part of North-East India.

Assam is awesome. In this video Assam is nothing. There are too many National parks, mega factories and world's 49% tea production is Assam. Long bridge is "Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Setu" which is Asia's longest bridge. World's largest river island "Majuli" and smallest river island "Umananda" is situated in Assam on the heart of the river ''Brahmaputra''. Asia's first oil refinery is in Assam. Even Mughal ruled all over India but not Assam. Assam's Capital is Dispur (Guwahati), and Guwahati is the gate way of northeastern states of Assam. Kindly visit Assam. Assamese food is very unique.

I am from Assam my tribe is the earliest settlers in Assam n north east india. Most of north eastern people r Mongoloid race of people. But all part of Assam is not like that its just rural part of Assam. If u really wanna visit north east go to Sikkim, meghalaya or arunachal but remember transport n communication system is not good here.
@mwkthangswargiary26566 жыл бұрын
Its according to historian. Also Japanese researcher said there were only one language in the north east after 5 year of research. We settled here in before 3000 even Aryan came in 1500 bc. Allmost all the bodo kachary tribe including boro dimasa garo kokborok so many our language is same u come here n see research everything then come to talk. I think only limited people have knowledge about northeastern history because northeastern history is not thought in school book n before British come to India it were never part of India see the map of India before British come to India
@mwkthangswargiary26566 жыл бұрын
U don't have proper knowledge about our culture n language n blindly say they were come from China actually not we boro or bodo kachary people don't look like Chinese we look like southeast asian. But people from Sikkim Mizoram have face to Chinese or Japanese people. But see boro people have same feature to Burmese or Thai people.

@jagatdeuri32613 жыл бұрын
True though but it's vice versa the last kingdom of Assam before the British raj where Ahoms who has the same origin as Thai and ruled the region for 6 centuries. So nothing surprising. But the fun part is even though they ruled the region for 6 century, they did not let the native culture die that why the tribals were able to retain their culture and also since the tribals people also had their kingdoms and later merged with the Ahom kingdom it evolved the culture of the state.
