Born and raised in Atlanta. I’m a 55 year old black gentleman. Seen a lot come and go! Honestly, I hated gentrification, but I have to admit, I can’t believe how much Atlanta has grown and changed, and I love it! I hate the cost of living now, but hopefully it will get better! This is a beautiful video production! As a native Atlantan that has traveled the world, no matter where I visited, it always made me appreciate Atlanta even more! I have always loved living here, and still do! But BY FAR.., out of all the skyscrapers and amazing growth.., my absolute favorite thing in all of the changes… IS THE BELTLINE! I am crazy about the beltline! And not just the main circle.., but all the connecting trails everywhere as well! The beltline is a home run!!! The gentrification overshadowed everything for a long time, but hopefully the real laid back spirit of southern charm will dominate as the prevailing culture! … Southerners speak to each other, we check on neighbors, we are courteous drivers, we say please and thank you, we hold the door open, we give hugs, we respect adults and elders, we don’t use profanity in front of children and older people, etc… that’s the southern way! We understand that people in the north don’t speak, don’t make eye contact, stay to themselves, can be rude, disrespectful etc as the norm… but you’re not up north.., you’re living in the south now.., so chill out.., relax, calm down, slow down… maybe you newcomers will get it after a while.., we native Atlantians certainly hope so! There is a lot of money and business here! No need to come with the criminal minds or toxic behavior! You can make legit money in Atlanta! Start a business, change your life, get to know business people around you.., Atlanta is that place! All the crime, gangs, and hustlers from other cities.. just know you’re in Atlanta now.., it’s not cute.., you look ignorant and out of place here bringing all the toxic drama. Just stop it! You’re in an entrepreneurial city, a professional city, with amazing people.., leave the old craziness behind.., and start you a brand new life here in Atlanta.., it’s the right place! We must keep it that way.., it will take all of us to make sure that happens!… Meanwhile.., welcome.., we hope you love and appreciate Atlanta as much as we do!

Is this your work, because if it is I must say you did a fantastic job? The clarity of the images, the angles, the altitude for the proper perspectives, a mix of day and night, multiple skylines. It truly shows someone how the city truly looks in person, instead of the terrible angles and altitudes that some people use. I also think this was shot on a beautiful day where the sun glare worked to the best of the video. After all these years, the King and Queen still look as eloquent as the 80s when they were built. They were truly ahead of their time. It would be nice to see another few tall skyscrapers in the vicinity of them to give the Perimeter Center area more of a cohesive look like Buckhead, Midtown, and Downtown.

No American city can be listed in the same breath as NYC or Chicago. Paris? not much of a skyline there... AtL does not excel Houston in Avg Height of its top 50 (Houston #4, ATL #6) .. However, ATL downtown/midtown complex excels Houston (Houston has no answer) In terms number of buildings over 200ft within 10 mile core of Metro area,, ATL 326 Houston 275 Buildings.. Even when Houstons goes 30miles from the core(Woodlands 43.9 sq miles) ) It only has 312towers over 200ft ATL 327. People compare Houston( 640sq miles) to ATL (134sq miles). If you add Perimeter Center(Sandy Springs Dunwoody), and Cumberland (70sq miles) and you truly see ATL 204 sq miles of development excels All of Houstons 684 Sq Miles . Singapore excels Houston and ATL

@@Miss_TEXAS_713 I am speaking only on objective numerical data. The IG ranking you present only speaks to frequency of post about the city and nothing to do with quantification of objective skyline data. Houston is an awesome city.. The tallest building is the breaking American Building why they they put it in the middle between downtown and Midtown
@TheSkylineKing Жыл бұрын
In hind site, one of the best things to happen to the city of Atlanta skyline was the placement of One Atlantic Center (former IBM Tower) in 1987 and then the BoA Plaza in 1992 away from the city core. Both were built in close proximity to Arts Center and North Ave Marta Stations. One Atlantic Center, became the tallest in the city when completed, later surpassed by BoA Plaza and Truist Plaza in 1992. The placement of those towers created a central spine of sorts along which the skyline has formed. That 3.6 miles spine of development is the 4th longest in the USA (behind NYC, Chicago, Miami) ; Miami's downtown development is a lot more sparse north of the causeway. The ATL skyline is really becoming more cohesive and is shaping up to be the third largest skyline footprint in the USA as the rapid development around and between those towers increases.

The Bank of America Tower was actually built as Citizens and Southern Bank (C&S Bank) before a merger with Sovran Bank to become Nations Bank . C&S Bank originnaly had 19story circular tower on the site. That tower was demolished 1yr after the BoA Tower was completed. So placement of the existing BoA Tower likely simply related to land ownership.
