Agreed. The LT Wright GNS is one of my all-around favorite outdoors knives in my collection. I couldn't wait for a Ray Mears Woodlore, even if I could even afford one. I found the GNS in 3V scandi though and it's been a most wonderful and cherished knife for me.

Nice video, can't beat spending some time in the nature, cooking, testing knives and doing some bushcraft 👍 The snow situation looks very different compared to Eastern Finland. Atleast where I live there's like 70-90 cm of snow in the woods, for the most part. Well, atleast we have hankiaiset for now so its quite nice and easy to walk in the woods...

Oh but the snow is back!😂 hahah. Takatalvi…. My daughter actually burst ti crying when she saw the snow, lol. But yeah, I can imagine there being a lot of snow in the east… I think theres always alot! ( but wait a second, 70-90cm’ s! Wtf. ok thats hardcore for april, right? Thanx for watching man!🌲🔪🌲

@@OldForestBushcraft Yeah, heard you guys got some new snow in there 😁👍. Atleast in Kuhmo and Lieksa there's about that much snow in many places. Depends on the area/woods of course. There is a big difference when you go south like a few hundred kilometres, in places like Kuopio or Joensuu there is a lot less snow already...

Yeah, the more I've used it the more I like it. I btw. like patina on my blades. Gives character. Probably that feels also familiar, as I used all my youth pretty much only high carbon steel puukkos. Stainless steels were just never as good back in the day, not for hard outdoors use (outside fishing etc). Have a great day my friend!🌲🔪🌲

LTWK has still retained my favorite knives of my collection as well. My JX2 Jessmuk in O1 is my prime Bushcraft go-to. With my 3V LTWK SNH usually always on my hip being an Unbeatable steak knife- yet robust and tough enough to do just about anything. I am still waiting for a special; super rare/first run of a knife based on one that we both own from LT Wright. It really does benefit greatly to be a member of the Pout house and it is at a reasonable price. Thank you for the lovely landscape and informative review. I know many really love their GNS and LT stands by the design strongly. Take care and always looking forward to your Videos! -Seth

Thank you for the great Easter Greeting a few days ago. I finally got a glimpse of the man that has been taking me along on his walks with discussion's about his knives and feelings about them. I am a devoted hand forged in Finland Puukko fan man, firmly believe that the Finnish people have thoroughly tested the Puukko over the past severals centuries of daily use. I doubt that LT Wright knives will stand up to that test of time. I really like your lunch preparations, when I was in Finland I bought a Murrikka socked handled fry pan and use it for toasting ham & cheese sandwiches or cooking a fish etc. for my forest lunches, breakfast and dinners it is a great addition to my cooking kit much like you folding handled one. I would love to see a video of your fly fishing adventures, your favorite gear, flies and methods of cooking fish. Look forward to seeing you next video in the beautiful Finnish forest.

Oh I love Puukkos, If I would have to pick my favorite knife of my collection, at the moment it would be the Puukko by Jari Liukko. Centuries of tradition, and a national symbol. Not many countries that have two names for knife: veitsi is a general name for allkind of knives, kitchen, hunting, fishing etc. And Puukko means specifically an general purpouse outdoor knife. And ONLY outdoor knife. Everybody understand the difference here. And well made Puukkos are mighty strong. Never had them fail on me. Once I batoned an ond Marttiini so that the tip chipped a bit, thats it. I will definitely do more content with Fishing (in many forms) bushcrafting, foraging, hiking, outdoor food prep etc. Thanx for watching my friend, have an awesome day!

Just havent tested them enough. Things might change! If I would have to choose my favorite knife it probably would be Finnish puukko. The 2 best I know of, are the Rob Evans MK Tribute SKookum knife and the Casstrom no 10. LT Wright makes great quality knives but I find the designs (even on the Morakniv Bushcraft Black) Superior to any LT Wright. Knife is all about geometries on both the main and edge bevels, as also handle design. Being comfortable, isn't enough for a Bushcraft knife design and that s sp,ething that handles like those on Casstrom no 10 and Bushcraft Black, will prove to the user. They offer better stability and generaly, they make things work better and easier. Simple handle designs, like on GNS,Genesis, Mora Companion, are great for general use utility knives, but not the perfect, for some main "Bushcraft" tasks. Just my experience.
