It’s actually quite easy to understand all of that, setup, all you need is knowledge of computer, and sound mixer, network it’s the easiest part, and yes, that setup is made for professional use, and cost money, I remember in our church, we upgraded video cameras, each was $15,000 dollars, we had 3 of them, I personally built sound operator room, run all wires, did all network, except back in 2000s there was no Alexa, so I need to walk through the church and turn on all lights. Then we built custom video processing desktop, later we finally bought our own satellite channel, so we did live video streaming on TV channel WORLDWIDE! That was awesome! And to be honest, actually all of our desktop computers was actually custom built, with water cooling systems, and reason for that, it’s super quiet, back in 2000 each cost to built roughly 5 to 8 thousand dollars, including our own server 100,000 GB, with solid state hard drives. However it still less than this guys have, we didn’t project anything on screen during worship, and he got automated video cameras, we have 4 guys standing with cameras, and a video operator have manual video switcher, and walkie talkie in each cameraman ear, so we can communicate with operator. Now, it’s a lot better. We actually have a guy, who literally was making actual custom built video software, specifically for our church, it took him almost a year to complete, and it’s actually only one of a kind, and only 1 copy exists. No one knows anything about it.

Love watching how people go about things in different ways to get a good live stream out - this is very innovative. One thing that makes me a bit nervous is how much backup for PCs/Macs falling over - I had a PC decide to reboot once during a live stream which was at the time running Livestream Studio to do the switching, FX and streaming. Needless to say this meant a delay of quite a few minutes whilst everything came back online. I now have redundancy in the system, with an ATEM Television Studio and a hardware streamer (AJA HELO) waiting to instantaneously take over should the worse happen. For peace of mind I recommend a backup system for all live work.

I grew up in a church that (at the time) had conservative music, no band. We had a choir, a few vocal groups, piano and organ..... not a B3 :( and a Yamaha KX-88 midi controller keyboard that accessed a number of sound modules in the music director's office via midi. I once had a debate with a congregant because he thought guitars and midi keyboards (symfacizers) were the devil's instruments. I said, come over here Bob, I want to show you something.... I opened the Rodgers organ lid and proceeded to tell him that he was calling our newly acquired midi keyboard a "symfacizer" and that the correct way to pronounce that word was "synthesizer". I told him that the word "synthesizer" got it's name from the word synthetic... (not real, fake, imitation) his response.... "OH!". I then showed him the stops on the organ, see this one??? trumpet, see this one, trombone, see this one, flute, see this one, violin... etc. etc... I could tell he didn't like where I was going. See Bob, this organ cost the church over twenty thousand dollars, and it uses transistors, resistors, diodes, capacitors and IC chips to imitate these different instrumental sounds, in fact, it produces, fake, imitations of sounds that are not real, and a multi-million dollar pipe organ is no different, just different parts. This organ that sits here in a beautiful walnut case is no different than our synthesizers and the midi keyboard that together produces the sounds of our choosing. He stormed off and said... "that organ is God's instrument, and it was dedicated to "His" service,... that symfacizer was not. I closed the organ lid and shook my head and realized just how closed minded he was. So, I took the time to type all this to say,... I watched this video, and was not surprised at all or amazed at the intricacy of this church's video, lighting and sound system. Complex compared to many churches??? sure... but I knew as soon as it was over and I began reading the comments out of curiosity that immediately,,,,, here it goes.... all this technical stuff is overshadowing what church is supposed to be about.... or something like that, just another Bob with a Bible growing out of his armpit. I am a Christian, and I am not perfect, far from it, but I have learned something that the "Bobs" of the church have not learned... as long as the church has members and visitors who like to worship their Savior in that facility, then they are honoring God. I believe that God adores their worship, and takes whatever worship and adoration He can get from us. Just because we don't like that kind of "devil music" as Bob would put it, does not mean that those people are being mislead by the technology. As long as the pastor preaches the gospel, and helps people to become better Christians, then I say they are doing something right, especially when you consider how many "conservative" churches with just a piano and organ are starving for more members. Personally, I prefer a huge pipe organ and a choir with great voices like this,..... kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZy7emBuo9RskKc&ab_channel=St.OlafCollege that is what causes me to enter into a state of worship, likely because it is the style of music that I was raised on. But,... drums, bass, guitars, keys and a praise team of singers is certainly capable of leading a congregation into true, genuine worship. I have learned to not criticize HOW people worship as long as they are praising God, no matter what the tempo, key, volume or even if the midi CC# is 127 for the master volume. :) I say, within reason, we should do whatever it takes to help people worship during the music part of a service. Ultimately, the musician's job is to "set the stage" for the Pastor's spoken word. Just sayin :) God bless us everyone :)
@findinglife77723 жыл бұрын
I agree. My church has guitars, piano and different types of drums. Though I don't support rap in the church. A Christian Professor once said answering a question about how music should go in church, and he responded, "You need to find a balance for all ages, the youth and the older ones, music needs to lead all of the congregation into worship. There needs to be a balance to lead the youth and also those of older age." God bless you, have a wonderful day 🙏🙏🙏

Nice job! One question, given the amount of things that you do in series software rather than dedicated hardware; how often do you have a minor issue or catastrophic failure requiring a partial reset? We have a small (about 6,500 sq foot recording and broadcast studio, but we do a lot of those things with dedicated Dante, Blackmagic and other hardware. Obviously we use software where we have to, but we found that the complexity of operating systems and third party software interactions cause a wide range of audio, video, synchronization, lock-up, memory leaks, and other issues, which we eliminated by using dedicated hardware.

Awesome video hey! Installed a number of live stream set ups for churches now. While some churches have many skilled parishioners, they are not present all services so auto on hardware as much as possible. Yes you can do so much more in the software, but if the operator (all volunteers) doesn’t get it or how it’s dependant to troubleshoot, it will quickly resort back to the static video feed. Love the MIDI over IP.

How’s the delay on the video transmitter for imag
@PTZOptics8 ай бұрын
Hi! The delay experienced with a video transmitter for IMAG (Image Magnification) can vary significantly based on the specific equipment used, its quality, the technology it employs, and the setup's complexity. IMAG is particularly sensitive to delay because it requires near real-time projection or display of live video to maintain synchronicity with the live action, especially in a live event or worship service context. Here's an overview of factors influencing delay: 1. Type of Video Transmitter: Wireless vs. Wired: Wireless transmitters generally have more latency compared to wired connections. The delay can range from a few milliseconds to over a second. Technology Used: Technologies like HDMI, SDI, NDI, or HDBaseT have different latency profiles. For example, NDI can offer low latency transmission over a network. 2. Quality and Specifications of Equipment: Higher-end equipment typically offers faster processing and transmission, resulting in lower latency. The resolution and frame rate being transmitted also impact delay - higher resolutions and frame rates may increase latency. 3. Distance and Obstructions (for Wireless): Longer distances and physical obstructions can increase latency in wireless systems. Line-of-sight transmission generally offers the lowest latency in wireless setups. 4. Network Infrastructure (for Network-Based Transmitters): Network speed, quality, and traffic play a significant role in delay for network-based video transmission like NDI. A dedicated and optimized network can help minimize latency. 5. Processing and Conversion: Any processing (like scaling, conversion, or encoding/decoding) adds to the delay. Devices that perform these tasks with high efficiency can reduce latency. Typical Latency Ranges: 1. Professional Equipment: High-quality professional transmitters designed for live production might offer latency as low as a few milliseconds (almost imperceptible). 2. Consumer-Grade Equipment: More affordable or consumer-grade solutions might have higher latency, noticeable in a live setting. Reducing Latency for IMAG: 1. Use professional-grade equipment specifically designed for live production. 2. Optimize network settings and infrastructure for network-based solutions. 3. Minimize the distance and obstructions in wireless setups. 4. Reduce on-the-fly processing or use equipment that handles processing efficiently. Conclusion: The delay in a video transmitter system for IMAG can range from negligible to significant, heavily influenced by the type of technology, equipment quality, and setup configuration. For IMAG, where synchronicity is crucial, aiming for the lowest possible latency is essential. Testing the setup under real conditions before the actual event is highly recommended to ensure the delay is within acceptable limits.

So does that mean the mixing is automated? I’m guessing you still have an engineer for that. I’m not super impressed with the drum mix, but the rest sounds good. Video could be a bit higher quality as well.

That's what I thoughtthought. Drum mix isn't well. Also I think it's a bit overloaded. But maybe it's the style...

How are you getting vMix to run on a Mac?
@PTZOptics8 ай бұрын
Hey Logan, vMix is a live production software that is natively designed for Windows and does not have a direct version for macOS. However, Mac users can still run vMix using one of the following methods: 1. Boot Camp Description: Boot Camp is a utility provided by Apple that allows you to install Windows on a separate partition of your Mac's hard drive. This way, you can boot your Mac into either macOS or Windows. Process: Install Boot Camp Assistant (included with macOS). Use Boot Camp to partition your hard drive and install Windows. Once Windows is installed, boot into Windows on your Mac. Install vMix in the Windows environment. Pros: Full performance of your Mac hardware. Cons: Requires rebooting to switch between macOS and Windows; requires a valid Windows license. 2. Virtual Machine Software Description: Use virtual machine software like Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion to run Windows in a virtual environment within macOS. Process: Install the virtual machine software on your Mac. Install Windows within the virtual machine. Install vMix within the Windows environment in the virtual machine. Pros: Allows running Windows and macOS simultaneously; easy to switch between operating systems. Cons: May not offer the same performance as a native Windows system; requires a valid Windows license. 3. Cloud-Based Streaming Solutions Description: Use a cloud-based streaming computer that runs Windows and vMix. You remotely control this system from your Mac. Process: Rent a cloud-based Windows server (like AWS, Azure, or similar services). Install and set up vMix on the cloud server. Access and control the server remotely from your Mac. Pros: No need to install Windows on your Mac; can access your setup from anywhere. Cons: Requires a fast and stable internet connection; ongoing cost for cloud server rental. Important Considerations Performance: Running vMix on a virtual machine or via Boot Camp on a Mac may not offer the same performance as running it on a dedicated Windows machine, especially for resource-intensive production tasks. Compatibility: Ensure that your Mac’s hardware specifications meet vMix’s system requirements. Windows License: Running Windows, whether via Boot Camp or a virtual machine, requires a valid Windows license. Conclusion While running vMix natively on macOS is not an option, using Boot Camp, virtual machine software, or a cloud-based solution are viable methods to operate vMix on a Mac. Each approach has its advantages and considerations, so the best method will depend on your specific needs and resources.

Curious... Doesn't the Hollyland camera wireless system produce latency? I have a single Hollyland Mars 300 pro and I am getting about 0.25 seconds of latency. How are they overcoming latency in their wireless setup?
@jerrytsunami3 жыл бұрын
I use the Hollyland 300 Pro at my church, and I fix it in my streaming software (OBS). I delay the incoming audio so that it arrives in my stream at the same time as my video and that will remove any audio / video syncing issues. God bless.
